I have had 2 sets of the Cabelas guide gear rain suits and I am done with them. The bibs are just garbage and I think I get wetter with them on. I need a new set of bibs at least and I have $80 in gift cards for Cabelas. Anyone suggest a good pair of bibs?

Cabela’s might accept them back on an exchange. They are pretty good about standing behind their own products brand name gear. Whether you want to try a third set is another story.

I have a Gill jacket and bibs which have been awesome. Only had them for 2 years now but they look and perform like brand new. The jacket is a little heavy for certain times of the year otherwise the quality is great.

    Grundrens weather boss jacket
    HH rain bib overall, polyester.

Any rain event any time of year. Those are the two I’ve relied on for years.

    One word…Simms.

They are not a $100 option but you will stay dry and they will last. Check online for obsolete models on sale.

Did you have the Cabelas Guidewear Gortex bibs? I havent heard of many issues with those. They are pricey (somewhere around $300 normally) but are the best pair I’ve had

My Cabelas guidewear suit is heavy so only use it spring and fall but it is still keeping me dry and it is 15 years old.

Yes, it’s the Cabelas Guidewear Gortex bibs. My issue is the zipper from the chest to belly button leaks at the bottom. When I am driving the boat and sitting down the rain/water pools on my lap and then leaks thru the zipper into the crotch of my pants. When I get to shore and take them off it looks like I had an “accident”. I may as well just wet my pants, it would be warmer… I got the second pair about 4 years ago because my old pair was doing this. The new pair does the same thing. The rest of the bibs keep me dry and yes, they are heavy and hot in summer, but nice for fall and winter ice bibs.

they may not be the most comfortable but PVC suit is the only thing guaranteed to keep you dry. I have quite a few rain suits/winter suits and when I know im gonna get wet I usually wear my HH PVC bibs.

I’ve had a couple sets of those. I was always pretty happy with them, but like everyone said, they are way too warm in the summer.

I just got a Simms Pro Dry suit. Although I haven’t really been in a all day soaking rain with them yet, they are definitely the most comfortable set of rain gear I have ever worn.

Return them they are guaranteed for life and get the new guidewear that is black and grey. They are much lighter and drier. I just did this myself.
