Noticed that they are now using Quantum Rods and Reels. Wonder what happened with the Shimano Relationship?

Why not send Al a message? He has a Facebook page. Easy enough to contact.

Because Al is a stand up guy and he couldn’t keep being bought when he knew in his heart Quantum was superior.

I take it “hooked up” has a whole new meaning from when I was a kid?

You think he ditched for LESS money? Man I hope you’re right cause not many guys would do that.

Who cares………the information provided on the when, where and how is still informative. No matter who’s rod he is holding

I agree with Bret. I don’t care if he’s using a cane pole and bailing twine, the Lindners are still at the forefront of fishing information.

I am naive, but not that naive.

But just like how if you hang around IDO enough, you get a feel that the people who run it are good people (muah muah muah), you watch Al, read his articles and friend him on Facebook, you realize that he is a genuine good guy.

I like the Linders Angling Edge fishing show more than I liked In-Fisherman.

What? You don’t like swimbaits and catfish in small rivers?

In-Fisherman used to be good….when it was Angling Edge.

    Yeah, I saw that.

Slightly off subject, but don’t try friending Rick Clunn. He cut people off at 5,000. P

Always loved Al and Ron. I can attribute my fishing passion from my dad and Al. Most kids got up to watch cartoons, I got up to watch In-fisherman with Al(pre swimbaits ), his passion and knowledge draws a person in.

Whatever they use, they always have my support.

I feel differently about Al after being treated like dirt on a Mille lacs mud flat when I was 12. At that time Al Linder was my idol and I couldn’t even get a hi from him. Now I realize it’s been 16 years since some kid fishing walleye with his dad got shot down by his idol but it still kind of bugs me.

I am surprised. Maybe he has changed since then? Hard to imagine him doing that. Then again, we should never be assuming with someone’s image.

Seriously, still bugging you 16 years later because he didn’t say “hi”? He’s a fisherman not a politician.

Yeah, but when we are kids, everything is different, you know? If you idol can’t even wave then there is something wrong about that. It is good to hear that he has changed though.

When your battle cry was take a kid fishing I expected more. I’m not saying I hate the guy but when I was 12 fishing 30ft from a guy I idolized and got no response it hurt a little.

I don’t know what happened yesterday much less 16 years ago…but I said Hi to a fella on P4 once and waved. He turned his head the other way. I never did anything to this fella. I was ticked off and hurt at the same time.

I made a post about it without mentioning any names.

A very short time later I was in a pm conversation with him and guess what? He didn’t see me. I felt like a schmuck.

Don’t know the situation back then, but there are times when the obvious is not so obvious.

There was another guy in the boat with him that was very friendly cheering me on while netting eyes for dad. Yet not a word from Al maybe I caught him on a bad day I’ll never know. Maybe he couldn’t hear me 30ft away saying over and over DAD THAT’S AL LINDER!

It is much to easy to misunderstand the meaning of a gesture, a word, a thread, a glance, from someone who really has a different point of view than the way you percieve it to be.

A simple event can offend another unintentionally.

Try this simple Q-TIP ( quit taking it personaly)

Be Honest, and offer a handshake.

I figured Al being a man of god-da, he would be able to at least give a nod to a fan, especially a kid.
