This rain just never lets up! Most of the South side of La Crosse is shut down because of flooded streets. Mud slides between here and Stoddard acrosse the road makeing it impassible. I was called in to work at about 12:30 AM this morning to open my school for the Red Cross. We are an emergancy shelter! They are telling me it has been declared a national disaster by the feds! If I start seeing animals walking around in pairs I’m outa here!

Hwy 14 is closed by Stockton because of the mudslides.
The Root River is spilling over it’s banks.
People are being evacuated off of their roofs!
Army reserve is being called in. Sounds like 3 people have died from the flooding so far.
When it rains…it pours!

August 19, 2007 at 11:10 am #601258I’m going to have to pull the docks in a foot or so at Everts near Red Wing…looking that the Lock and Dam reports…Fountain City, L&D 5A is where the ‘sippi start rising most noticably.
