My family and I were on vacation earlier this month in the Hayward area. One of the things we did, was take the kids to the Wilderness Walk. If you guys get up there, check it out. We spent 3 hours there and I’d go back again. Alot of different things to see and do. Kids can go to the petting zoo, feed the deer that just roam around the grounds, feed the brown trout. I could sit here and type for an hour about all the details, but I’d rather not I’m going to try and include some pics of the walk and a few others of the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. Ok here goes! First one is my son feeding the Turkeys that roam the grounds.

One of the many bucks that roam around. This guy would let you pet him on the head but if you touched his horns he knew right away! Guess their horns in velvet are as sensitive as I’ve heard.

That machine right behind this deer is filled with mineral pellets of some sort and this guy just stood by it til we came down by him and then you could try to feed him corn but he’d have nothing to do with it. Guess I didn’t realize it was a favorite to that extent.

My son next to a replica of the world record hybrid musky. Can’t remember for sure but 57 lbs rings a bell. A record that has been standing since 1919….coming up on a century, now that’s incredible

My son and myself next to a replica of Louie Spray’s 69 lb 11 oz. monster! I don’t know if it helps size up how big the fish is but I am 6’4″ 230 lbs. Believe me it’s a PIG!!!

This place is awesome…we always stop when we are up their. The goats are also a hoot…I love being able to interact with the animals there. I have a lot of pics to of me and the deer too. They followed us around the whole time we were there.

There is also animals there like a Tiger, Cougar, Buffalo, Wolves etc… Yeah Krisko that was the neat part of it for me too…interacting with the different animals walking around. When that first buck caming walking by us, you had the feeling of calmness in the air.

I personally thought “Oh my…that must be the brother to the guy I shot last year, and my gosh they aren’t fenced in!!!” AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I was better after my wife tackled me and told me to take my meds.
