Naked Lobster

Sorry, no sunburned chicks in this post.

Has anyone seen the naked lobster they are selling at Lunds?

After tasting a sample from the sample lady yesterday, I had to go back and indulge for Michelle, her mom and I on New Year’s Eve.

Instructions: Quick saute in butter to warm it up and it is ready. Even I can’t screw that up.

Pretty crazy looking, eh? If it weren’t so big, it’d be a nice trailer on a Jig and Pig. And I am using big in relative terms. That is just 7.5oz of meat.

Is that one piece? How the hell did they get the shell off and package it without it breaking?

That’s what I thought, but I just looked at it and it is in pieces. They package it so it looks like a whole lobster.

Just got off the phone with Jarrett and he pointed out that it isn’t cooked.

Should be simple to prepare though. I have a tendency to overcook seafood slightly. I never learn.

The hardest seafood to cook in my opinion is scallops, which is a shame since they are so good.

Try naked mudpuppy sometime, very hard to overcook.

I’m doing tails tomorrow night. 1/2 lb each. Butterfly cut the shells and
put them in a 9 x 13 pan. A little bit of water and a splash of lemon juice. Preheat oven to 375, cover and bake for about 20 minutes.

I’m more of a eel sushi guy! No cooking involved.

I got the naked lobster, jumbo cocktail shrimp, tenderloin, crab legs and baked potatoes. It is sort of a tradition here like the Big Sunday Breakfast.

Just finished off my snow crab from the grill…delicious. Also, grilled two lobster tails for my FW, which she loved.

    Thank you, Bering Sea!

The lobster was good, but after cooking it there is not a lot left.

I think we are skipping the crab legs from now on and just going with lobster tails, steak and potatoes.

We just finished the grilled lobster and rib eye’s and it was to die for. The Beergarita’s were pretty good also.

If you haven’t had a Beergarita you need to try it
