What lubes/grease are you guys having in extreme cold temps. Heading out tommorow night hunting and just want to make sure I dont have any issues.

Suppose to be 32 below wens night, ive never had a problem but if im going to go to out in that crap I dont want to worry about gun malfunction.
FisherpaulPosts: 214January 6, 2015 at 10:19 pm #1493309Well, first let’s talk about what NOT to use. This one is easy: Grease. Just say no. Nothing good can come from using grease in the cold! In fact, I almost never use grease at all, for any weather, but that’s another story.
For cold weather I use either a dry lube, or a fully synthedtic oil very sparingly. Keep in mind, you are highly unlikely to damage a gun by using too little lube for metal on metal protection. It just doesn’t take that much to provide enough lube for proper function and that’s enough with a hunting gun.
