I now have a LMS350 w/GPS I want to move up to a LCX-26c HD now I see the Eagle 2000C and 2000CDF. Any body now the trade offs other than the price? And with the LCX-26 C HD can I reuse my present GPS antenna?

Not sure on the antenna, but Wade can probably answer that one for you. BTW, have you checked out his prices? If not, he has some smokin deals right now.

The differences I’ve seen between the Eagle products in the lower price ranges is resolution and processor speed. The resolution isn’t a huge factor for me and processor speed is just slightly slowly when zoom in/out for the map to refresh or repaint itself. I’ve always run eagle product, so I’m biased. Good luck, you are looking at some nice units.

Dman, you won’t be able to use your current GPS antenna on the LCX-26C. It takes the new LGC-2000 GPS antenna only.

The Eagle 2000C is a great unit for the money. It is basically the old Lowrance LCX-19C in an Eagle case, and we all know how good that unit was. There are a few guys on here that have purchased the 2000C and maybe they can offer their impression if they read this.

The advantage of the LCX-26C is that it does have the newer technology (NMEA 2000 compatible). See LowranceNet and NMEA 200 info PDF for more info on NMEA 2000.

The other advantage of the LCX-26C is that it has a built-in hard drive that has some pre-loaded contour maps and it allows you to save data onto the free space on the Hard Drive. The lake maps that are pre-loaded are not of the greatest quality, so you would need Navionics maps or Lakemaster maps anyway. Mapcreate topo is also pre-loaded, as well as mapping for all the Great Lakes.

I bought a cheap eagle cuda120 a while back, and i have a little problem reading it. I have checked it on the depth and it works really great, seems to be almost right on for accuracy, but when i am fishing, the sensor raises itself automaticly, and the whole screen is filled with fish and it just bleeps at me like crazy. Just wondering if you would know how to fix this or if i am doing something wrong. Also, if anyone knows how to get it into the different mode of fish desplay, rather than the little goldfish looking things, i would like to have the arch type fish to appear on my screen. Seems like it would be easier to read what the fish are doing this way. Any helP?

I would give LEI a call and ask them to help troubleshoot your unit. It sounds like it’s faulty. I assume it’s under warranty yet. If that doesn’t work, go back to the dealer you bought it from, they may be able to help you.

Here is Eagle’s number: 1-800-324-1354 or go to:

http://www.eaglegps.com and click on the support link, then warranty.

I am not very familiar with the eagle cuda but if it’s like most units you probably have it on “auto sensitivity” and you need to change that to manual and run it at about 50 percent and adjust from there. As far as the “fish ID mode”, I think it’s junk on all the units. There should be an option to turn off Fish ID mode, then you shold see archs instead. You won’t get the best readings on that particular unit (as you stated, it is a lower-end unit) but you should be able to identify your depth and you should get some sort of blip on the screen when you hit a fish. If you don’t have the manual for it you can download Eagle manuals at EAGLE here.

thanks> i still have the manual, but i still was stumped. I guess you could say i am just slightly electronically retarted. If i can’t figure it out, i will ask my dad. He majored in electronic repair.
    Thanks guys!

I purchased an Eagle 2000C from Wade last spring. Best money I ever invested in any accessory! I believe it has a little less preloaded options than the old X-19, but I did not need any of that. It has great definition, clarity, and visability. I have mine on my dash, and can read both sides of a split screen (GPS and Sonar) from 8 or 9 feet away at the back of the boat running my kicker. I previously had a Garmin 240 and a Lowrance X-85. I thought they where decent units, but do not compare in any fashion to a big screen color unit.
If the extras that Wade listed for the Lowrance unit are appealing to you, and worth the extra cash, I’d go for Lowrance…. but if you don’t need the extra bells and whistles, the 2000C is a great unit for the price!

    Thanks John,

I’m still I hope I have this wraped up by Jan 1st. And Wade at Jolly Ann Marine has good pricing.
