Aug 18th / Sunnies on Ceder Island Lake

Got out this afternoon with the Niece and Nephew. We went out on the Horseshoe chain launching in Cold Spring and ran up to Ceder Island lake where we looked for a sunfish bite.

We found the fish on the weededges in 8-12 ft on the outskirts of a small bay. This first picture is Travis who landed this fish in the first 5 minutes of fishing. Once he finished playing with the worms and got the bait in the water he found more excitement than the worms where providing.

Plain hook and a pinch of nightcrawler and get ready to set the hook, as the fish where swallowing the hooks quick. I found out real quick that only one pole going was the only chance I had this afternoon as the bite was pretty quick, they didn’t mind taking turns and Uncle D thanks them for that. Here is Rachael with a beauty that got a little jumpie with her a photo time. It was sure fun watching those two in action today and they both did a great job landing some nice sunnies.
