Too true. You can make it to Kelliher and stop at the gas station for some decent food in the same amount of time as waiting in that McDs drive thru

I still try to make it up to devils lake area every spring with the waders to cast paddle tails for ice out walleyes. Can’t beat it

Lindyrig- Many have posted in this thread about how common place it was to see people basin trolling for muskies with planer boards. I see it all the time on Leech in walker bay. Wouldn’t say it’s more common place now to target them in that location. Some just are doing it differently

Also, no one is disputing many <em class=”ido-tag-em”>muskies have been and will be caught in open water without FFS. The point is FFS is uniquely powerful/effective at locating suspended fish, especially recently post-spawn muskies, and pretending otherwise is disingenuous.

I don’t think anyone is disputing that Livescope can make finding suspended fish easier. However, the counterpoint is that if catching muskies suspended over deep water post spawn is so detrimental to their health, we do we allow any Muskie fishing during that time. It’s okay to catch a few trolling but not the same or a few more casting?

FFS makes it too easy to catch fish so we must ban it.

GPS shows me where the rock pile is where the fish are. Ban it

Newer boats handle big waves too well when my boat can’t. Ban it

High horse power motors are not needed when my 25hp gets me to the spot. They just get people to fish faster than me. Ban it

Spoons feed people food which makes them fat. Ban it

    Guns… I leave it there

Everything is a tool and needs to be used with common sense. Crazy thought

At some point we should have a discussion around people acting like sportsman and using proper handling, targeting, and C&R practices. I’m sure a decent portion of people complaining about FFS are also the people that have overlimits of fish in their freezer.

Also, I’d argue that software like OnX Fish which compiles lake survey data and uses AI to allow a person to search for trophy crappie (or any species) lakes is a bigger determinant to fish populations. Hardly ever hear anyone complaining about that.

I ice fish ND a lot and have never used all 4 lines in the winter that I legally can. Just because it’s there, doesn’t mean you have to use it lol. I can definitely see how running tip ups would be nice with 4 lines available

The main times I have seen any issues with stab on stops is if the pipe is not round (ie ovaled). Just make sure the copper looks good

I take it that it’s copper pipe coming out of the wall?

I use the Scheels walleye series 8’ medium moderate action with braid and leave the rods in the rod holders most of the time. I’ve been a big fan of these rods for the price point. They hook up the fish well and handle the head shakes. I’ve used them trolling many times as well with zero complaints

I have used the non jointed pinhead 1-16 oz in white wonder bread for 3 winters with no bait on it. Can confirm it works very well for crappies. Usually is at the back of their throats. If they won’t take the pinhead, I’ll downsize to a tungsten and plastic

Manufacturer’s sales rep in the construction industry. Industry full of like minded good people and I either work out of my home office or behind my steering wheel. Plenty of idiots in rep positions so if your decent at your job, you earn people’s respect rather quickly and can do well.

I have been very intrigued by Core’s RV water system and their solar system. Seems like the best setup on paper but I personally haven’t heard an owner’s review.

I had a Yetti and still believe they have quality built wheelhouses, probably the top or top 2 in the market. Never had issues or complaints about ours

If you are just running lights, fans, and a heater, you could go with a cheaper brand. I know some guys that have LiTime lithium batteries in their boats. That’d be a good option

I had these guys come out about a month ago. Very respectable pricing and cheaper compared to other places I got quoted. Plus they did a good job and did the dryer vent included

I worked 30-35 hours per week in construction while getting my 4 year degree and then working full time with overtime in the summer. If he is motivated, it’s possible

Truthfully, it might be more price effective to sell your trailer and buy a used one with the drive off ramps

Another option would be to use the ice defense to keep water circulating. I’ve seen guys buy cheap Amazon aerators instead and those keep holes open. Maybe Velcro them to hole sleeves?

There’s a few companies that make insulated skirts for all the way around the wheelhouse. Not super cost effective but I’m sure it works well

Ambush skid houses has a YouTube channel with a video showing a few options. Slightly jackknifing the trailer and using a strap tied off to your atv or SxS to pull it onto the trailer may be faster than a winch.

The cabin will fit in a short box with the tailgate closed. Seen it done in a Chevy, ford, and Ram. I’ve only seen it fit under a tonneau in the GMs

Core is the only one that I am aware of currently. Their bigger houses will fit a crew cab with tracks. Legend is no longer in business

Run the infloor tubing even if you don’t hook up a boiler right away. You can’t put it in later and the tubing isn’t that expensive.
