Congratulations! Should probably teach him how to put out fires.

Joe Jarl what lakes do you fish typically? we Usually stop at the big tap for lunch one day.
Mainly Cass, but will go into Andrusia and Kitchi too. Friday lunch is usually at Stony Pt and then an evening visit to the Big Tap.
May 8, 2025 at 10:12 am #2334698Might be better just to sell as is and move on to a Honda or Toyota.
Any guesses which brands I recommended when we bought the Volvo?
May 8, 2025 at 9:21 am #2334688Strandberg Auto is probably your best bet, great to work with and have been around forever. Good luck.
Thanks for the suggestion! Looks like they would have at least a decent budget option.
May 8, 2025 at 7:39 am #2334664My first thought was a used engine, but these had an issue with the rings that led to excessive oil consumption. This is the case with ours and I f’d up and let it go too long without checking the oil level. My fear is that we get a used engine with the same problem. What really bites is that Volvo was aware of the ring problem and had a program to repair, but you had to be getting your oil changes at a dealer and they would do an oil consumption test. Of course, they didn’t notify anybody of this and I didn’t find out about it until it was over.
May 8, 2025 at 6:17 am #2334650I know this won’t hold many commutes up but main street from Red river avenue west is under construction in cold spring
Along these lines, in Wright Co., CR5 is closed between CR125 and CR35 until end of July for bridge replacement.
May 7, 2025 at 12:17 pm #2334551I hope the illegal immigrants can still vote without a real ID.
Don’t have to prove citizenship to vote.
May 7, 2025 at 10:14 am #2334519Normally would be at Big Sandy for opener but our senior is going to prom for the first time on Saturday. He hasn’t participated much in school functions so I better not miss this one. Will be hitting a lake 2 miles down the road early Saturday morning. Can’t wait!
May 7, 2025 at 8:24 am #2334484Holy cow its looking WARM next week.
And dry. Too early to start watering the lawn!
May 6, 2025 at 12:46 pm #2334341SIL bought a Tundra last fall in the metro. I believe all he did was build the truck online and submitted it for quote to all dealers within a nearby radius. He based his decision on price and responsiveness. Did not have a trade so it was pretty straight forward. Don’t know which dealer he ended up using.
May 6, 2025 at 9:25 am #2334296Another solution to a problem that didn’t exist.
I think our legislators have far more pressing things to deal with….
My two centsDon’t believe the legislature had anything to do with this. Was a court case that made it to the MN Supreme Court.
May 5, 2025 at 2:15 pm #2334186With the good temperatures and weather Thinking about skipping this year and heading out to the turkey woods. But the following Thursday we head up to the Cass Lake are to do some fishing probably hit Winnie and Red

May 5, 2025 at 11:04 am #2334141If riders and drivers follow the rules of the law, it’ll probably work out fine at that low of speed. Spent some time in L.A. 25 years ago and saw a lot of it. Not sure if there was a limit on speed, but they seemed to be doing it at a lot more than 25 mph.
May 5, 2025 at 10:54 am #2334136Bought a camper in ’22 for use at our cabin lot while we rebuilt. Tried selling it last spring at a significant loss. Probably keep it now. You don’t lose anything if you don’t sell, right?
May 5, 2025 at 8:32 am #2334100Yessir! Usually would be on Big Sandy but our youngest is going to prom on Saturday. Figured I better attend. So I’ll be fishing a local lake. Have a feeling we’ll need to be at the landing plenty early with the weather forecast.
May 5, 2025 at 6:01 am #2334071It was passed based on statistics showing that it reduces vehicle/motorcycle accidents. Only potential problem I see will be the a hole drivers that are offended by someone getting in front of them. Same people that hate when someone tries the zipper merge. Can see road rage issues.
May 2, 2025 at 2:36 pm #2333695The curse is real. I think it began when EPG first put his lawn chair out on Nicollet.
May 1, 2025 at 2:43 pm #2333453I’m no expert but I’ve heard they’ll make an early run up shallow to feed then back out deeper until the water is warm enough for spawning.
May 1, 2025 at 2:13 pm #2333443Planning on getting out Sunday for the first outing on a local lake that usually lags a little behind the rest. I would think the shallow bite should be going. Been a while since I’ve hit it right.
May 1, 2025 at 11:06 am #2333416I follow the T Wolves casually and am certainly not a basketball mind. Fun to see them knock off the Lakers in 5. If you want a good chuckle, look up Ant’s reply to Shannon Sharpe’s series prediction.

Did realize the tundra 5.7 got the same milage a 3500 gasser gets. It’s bad, very bad. I know guys with the new 6.6 getting over 20 unloaded in a 1 ton.
I’d like to know how they’re driving. Best I get is 17ish on a leisurely highway cruise. Usually 15-16 unloaded. 12ish towing depending on wind. Not complaining, just would do backflips if I saw 20. Just glad I finally have a fairly simple V8 without AFM, DFM, PFM, turbos, or any of that. Came from an 3.5 ecoboost that I liked until the cam phasers went out at 110k.
April 30, 2025 at 11:07 am #2333180Glorified net men at that point.
I thought the same thing. I’ve watched 1st season and 2 episodes of the 2nd. I found it entertaining, but I did feel bad for the co’s. Was it common before live scope to have the pro set the hook and have the co just reel in “their” fish? Seems like a weird rule to allow that.
April 29, 2025 at 2:35 pm #2333022Any Dave Ramsey fans here? No ok just checking.
I was wondering when someone would bring him up. I’ve had loans on a number of toys. Even a few sleds back in the day, which depreciated like crazy. Could I have spent my money more wisely at that time? Without a doubt. One thing I’ve come to realize though is life is short. If you can “afford” it, go for it. To the OP’s question, BW probably had the best answer. All you can do is ask. I’d argue that a good cover is the best accessory you can get for a boat and probably depreciates at a rate similar to the boat itself. When you go to the bank, show them a copy of the boat purchase agreement and the quote for the cover.
