Oh, so GM owners are just abusive and neglectful?

There are bad parts made, don’t get me wrong, but they are the exception, not the norm.

1st thing the Warranty companies ask for is, proof of vehicle maintained per service schedule. Engine and Transmissions rarely fail because of mechanical issues… it’s usually caused by abuse and neglect.

I am sure everyone remembers when the new signs went up. I remember the biggest issue was Mille Lacs County said, great we don’t need to Police the area anymore, it’s reservation, there by saving Hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. The Band wanted them to continue to help police it and took them to court over it.

It’s skewed, the WILD are not a Minneapolis team, they are in St. Paul. coffee

Which puts Minneapolis at 99 Seasons since a Championship… and St. Paul at 25….making both less than New York in total seasons, since a Championship.

BigWerm…A flush uses cleaning chemicals and a machine to “flush” out the fluid and any debris. Some of the products/systems out there are BG or Wynns. A “drain and fill” is exactly that… drain the old fluid and fill with new. This may or may not include dropping the pan and replacing filters, that would be what we call a fluid & filter service.

I call them “wallet flushes”… the only flush we recommend is the coolant at stated intervals. Everything else is drain and fill. waytogo

Who derailed that thread ? coffee

As stated, fluids get dirty and they break down. Clutch materials in the fluid build up over the miles. How hard your vehicle is used matters. If you have a church truck, you can easily go 100K, if you have a work truck, you might want to start thinking around 60K. I do not recommend any kind of “flush”.. this just knocks materials loose, that were in the nooks and crannys in the tranny and will mess with your valve body and cause more issues. Drain as much as possible and refill with fresh fluid, is the best service I think.

fins/ Walleyesforme, you prove you have absolutely no clue. Where did the RAM hurt you ?! jester

Francis, if your not having any issues with the Transmission, I would just do a drain and fill. Ram does not recommend any “flushing” and I wouldn’t worry about the built in filter, unless when changing the fluid, there is evidence of excessive debris in the pan.

Who do you guys like on the west side of the cities for transmission service?

I have a 2016 Ram with an 8-speed. I am learning the the tranny pan has an integrated filter that is disposable and replaced with a new one when servicing in addition to a special fluid for refill.

So, I’m looking for recommendations on a shop that can help me.

I recommend bringing it to to a dealership that doesn’t carry RAM products and go shopping.

Yeah, get a new Chevy… oh wait, they are on a stop sale. jester

If I were buying a new truck today it would be the Ford 2.7 or 5.0, and the Ram 5.7 would be higher on my list than anything from GM or Toyota.

Ram 5.7 is gone too, 2024 was last year

RAM 5.7 Hemi is coming back… they fired the CEO who made the call to discontinue it. coffee

I have this recall in my hand and it says this recall is performed on vehicles in dealer inventory only.

That’s the instructions to the dealers to perform on the new unsold models on their lots. To do the inspection and if they pass, they can sell them… if not, they wait for the remedy.

We used to have a killer smelt fry at our Legion in Eden Valley. A group of guys would go up and dip net hundreds of pounds. Then another group would spend a day cleaning them, then the next group would fry em up. We all had our jobs… I was always in the fry group… man they were tasty when drinking cold ones !!! toast

Not justifying it at all, but as Steven says, the media and those who hate Catholics, report extensive on it. I would venture to guess ALL religions have their sinners… again .4% shouldn’t chastise all priests. I had good ones growing up, I do know a neighboring Church had a alleged pedo for awhile. All religions “protect” them and move them around.. they are all guilty. Look at some religions and they do things to women and I am sure children (young women) that is the acceptable practice, which should disgust everyone. Like I said, I hope we get a Pope that first and foremost, represents the faith and that includes, addressing pedophiles.
