Looking for an inexpensive musky setup to give it a try this summer. If anyone has a rod and reel setup that would be a good starter I’d be interested. I picked up some tackle but it doesn’t work well not attached to anything.

I live in South Minneapolis so something close that I can pickup. Looking to spend $150 to $200.

PM me if you have anything.

Watch out when buying used reels for musky fishing. Make sure they are in good working order before you hand over cash. I helped a buddy get into musky fishing last year. I let him use one of my extra rods and reels so he could see if he could do it on his kayak. He had a blast with it and went out to buy his own setup. He found a good used rod. But he didn’t have the same luck with the reels. He went and looked at 3 different CL ones that said they were in good working order. They all sounded like grinders and they all wanted the cash before they would let him look at the reel. He ended up buying a new reel. Good luck.
