I guess he has lost about 300 due to the cold weather and the not having suffcient heat. They pile up and suffocate themselves. He says its worse than having a newborn. Up every two hours, out to the barn to make sure they aren’t piling up. I told him to suck it up!!

Do you have any chicken growers in your area? Most have taken out their old brooders and switched to furnaces; one or two of them would give you just the right heat. We sold all of ours, but I know a few growers have some lying around.
How many batches of birds does he raise in a year?

    Hey Kooty!

A good son would pay his dues and be up there helping out his tired father! I guess you won’t be hunting any of those birds this fall then… right?

J, let me know how much those things would cost. I’ll relay the info to dad. He raised 12-13K per year. Haven’t talked to him since last week to see how they are doing now.

    Brad,
He’ll have about 10k on the place when we pass through in September. Don’t even have to get the gun out, just walk out to the pen and ring the neck. No BB’s. LOL.

Yep, after Kooty shot a million holes in the barn last year going through a box of shells and not killing a single bird, his Ol’Man took his gun away. Good to see that your Dad got the Barn repaired in time for this years hatch Kooty.

I talked the old man into sending me pics every 3-6 weeks. Hopefully I won’t forget to keep adding them.
