i use frontline on my dog and up to this year have never had a problem. this year however i have found 3 ticks on my springer after the last 2 hunts. are the ticks extra bad this year or are they maybe building up a tolerance to frontline since it has been around a while. does anyone use anything else for flea and tick prevention

I have never seen 100% protection with Frontline. Some ticks make it through and they dont all die after biting. No doubt about it. That’s what I’ve seen and I apply once a month all summer into fall. My dog still has 3 scabs on her head from last attack in early Oct. Every time I pull them off they are partially engorged and their legs are still kicking.

I have noticed more ticks on the dog this fall. I asked the vet, and was told frontline was what was used on their pets.
