    How are they “begging”??

I see they’re having an auction for volunteered guided trips to raise more money, and that they’ve secured a TON of money through legislation.

(I dug into for 30 seconds so please excuse me if I’m on the wrong track)

All I can say is they’ve done a $hit ton more for fishing in Minnesota than I have or ever will.

I don’t follow mn fish. What did they do to secure the 38 million from the legislation? If they are solely the reason the 38 mill is going to the outdoors good on them, if they just take credit then shame.

Yes, please enlighten me as to what they’ve actually done. They’ve fundraised alot, they talk about how they are a lobby group yet I don’t know what they’ve done.

I might be totally wrong, but at this point they seem to talk a far better game than the results show.

I really don’t see how they are begging for money? Agree they are doing a good job or not, this auction is far from begging.

My opinions of MN Fish haven’t wavered. I wouldn’t call an auction “begging for money.” However, with the funds they have raised I’d love to see them be the leader of more initiatives rather than feel like as someone earlier said they “slap their name on something” calling it a win.

There could be tough times on the horizons for those truly looking to push new outdoors initiatives in Minnesota. The state budget looks rougher with each coming year. Fundraising groups like MN Fish could definitely see donor fatigue in this economy too.

AND, more importantly, did you take out a loan to make your donation?

The DNR was asking for this money for upgrading accesses for years, so it’s pretty debatable what role MN Fish actually played in getting it across the finish line. But regardless it did get funded and there are some access upgrades coming as a result, so 6 to one half dozen to the other imo.

My grandpa use to say it’s like the rooster taking credit for the sun rising.
