I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on the Strikemaster 40V vs the Clam 120V electric augers. I’m in the market for a new auger and deciding between the two models. I know the Clam model is new but was just trying to get a few opinions before buying.

    Thanks!

I’m guessing the Clam is a rebranded Trophy Strike auger. It uses the same battery at minimum.

I saw a video that showed the Strikemaster out-performing the Trophy Strike.

Rebranded Trophy Strike, AND Trophy Strike’s parent company is in bankruptcy right now so I’d have reservations about buying this.

I made this specifically for situations where people are trying to figure out what the better auger is? Let me know what you think? On a side note I do not advocate trying to destroy your auger to see how tough it is doah

I would not buy anything Clam, except maybe there new houses and some lures but that’s it. Look at the gas auger they came out with a couple years ago, where is it now?
If your deciding it should be between the Strikemaster and the new Ion gen 2 that a sweet unit.

Strikemaster, Clams quality is not up to par IMO.

I heard it took them over 10 months to a year and a half to replace all of those gearboxes that broke on their drill plate conversions-some being replaced more than once…
