    Hello:

Just got done cleaning the bottom aluminum with The Works toilet bowl cleaner. Now I have rid of all the stains and gunk and zebra mussels the hull or bottom looks all whiteish . Did I remove a finish or do I now need to polish the aluminum.

    Thanks

You have to be careful with acid on bare metal, it will etch the surface if left on too long (it won’t hurt paint, clear coat, gel coat, decals, etc…)

Not the end of the world, but you’ll need to polish your aluminum now. Blue Magic is some pretty good stuff that I’ve used on all sorts of metals.

When you’re done it will look like a million bucks )

I used a line of products called Boat Bling on my aluminum boat. They make Hot Sauce, Toon Sauce, Vinyl Sauce, and Condition Sauce. You spray it on and wipe it off. Removes water spots, stains, and even light scratches, all while adding a thin wax protective layer to the outside. It smells kinda funky, but so much easier than using water/soap.
