I just used Indeed to post a couple openings. It’s the first and last time I will use them.
I’m going back to Craigs List.

For me it was hard to maneuver thru the site and worse of all at the end it doesn’t really let you know you posted.
I tried sending them an email but haven’t received a response. Not impressed at all with their format.

You’ll have more luck posting here anyway. They’ll send you some broken down old guy like me that couldn’t read a tape measure anyway.

Plus they send auto resumes that have zero interest in your job.

Beads, Oh it can be a SS at times but I’ve found some good people also. It’s amazing, I always say that you need to pass a criminal background check and we do check. We get them back and the guy fails he says “I didn’t know that felony was actually on my record” Oh Brother, yeah that must have slipped your mind.

Sylvanboat – it ranges but I paid $29.00 per day. I just posted on CL and they are up to $45 now.

Indeed is tough. Even tho there is daily limits for what you spend, it seems they exceed them.

I post a job with 50% travel required. Get a bunch of applicants. During the interview process they say they can’t travel. Just a huge waste of time and money.

The indeed app is decent tho

Completely agree. Indeed is complete garbage. Horrible to navigate.

I think it’s a good thing there is a variety of recruiting options out there, since there are so many different types of jobs and fields. My company regularly uses Indeed and that’s one of our best advertisers for jobs! I’m surprised to see negative reviews on it. We’ve also used ZipRecruiter but find that our presence on Indeed seems to be seen so much more. Since Facebook is either free or cheap, depending on what you utilize there, we also use that frequently too.

We’ve tried CareerBuilder, Monster, and Craigslist but we don’t find many results with those places, and the costs for CareerBuilder and Monster are steep! ($375 and $249 respectively for one 30-day ad).

We’ve resorted to kidnapping high school aged kids who show potential and put them through our training & indoctrination program, allowing them to move on after 5 years of indentured servitude. It’s easier than trying to advertise to fill positions. mrgreen

do any of you guys looking to hire consider setting up at career days or these job recruitment things various company’s put on in like a convention center? or hitting a vo-tech school????

back when i was an active union thug………the companies i worked with did alot of that type of stuff. keep in mind, these people where mainly looking for welders. but some of those things set up had many different types of fields. they also checked with temp agencies…..some companies found people that showed promise and eventually hired them on full time.

one thing i heard allot with these career day booths was they werent getting people coming through that actually had the skill sets required for there particular line of work.
