Came across a post on a different site selling burbot bomb jigs and they looked pretty interesting, and got me wondering if there were any areas close bad that had burbot. I know theyre found in east and central WI.

There really are not any burbot until you get farther north into Minnesota. I knowthe area very well and have never seen or caught a burbot, or heard of any. We have dogfish in that rea, which are similar. Best place for those that I know of is the Cranberry chain of lakes in Burnett Co. THats all I know. Hope this helps.

I was ice fishing Big Butternut Lake in Luck WI a few years back, watching the Aqua Vu, when what looked d@#n close to a burbot came onto screen and laid on the bottom 5 feet from the camera for about 10 minutes, then swam away. That’s all that I know of.

Too bad you are not running a DVR along with your set-up so you could watch it again…or better yet share your captured piece so the CSI guys out there could help I.D. the creature in question.
