A while back on one of the sites, someone mentioned that Husqvarna had a lightweight ice auger. Found it on their site, called them and their C/S didn’t know what I was talking about. Anyone know of a dealer and the approximate cost?

Too bad you can’t get them in the U.S. I have a Husky 460 Rancher saw and it is a great machine. Best saw I’ve owned.

I have a Strike-Lite II and it weighs 23 pounds. It is very comparable to the weight of the Husqvarna listed above. The spec sheet lists the Husqvarna auger power head at 13 pounds. With the auger attached they are probably pretty close.

I am very happy with my Strike-Lite. It starts on the first pull and no mixing gas.

I love my Husky garden tractor. Had one issue and the service was outstanding

Husky makes some good small enigine machines but cannot sell in the US with a no compete clause issued against them. They make the power head but don’t make the drill, so they use a strikemaster drill from what I can tell. I think that is why they cannot sell in the US. I think. If you google Husqvarna ice augers you will find some places in Ontario that sells them. When I was in Ontario over Thanksgiving, I looked at one and also looked at the price. Close to 800 canadian dollars. So that was out of the budget for this year. Take a look.

Cals right, when I was searching for one a few years back I figured out on a trip to canada that for what I would pay to bring it home, I could get 2 of the 2 horse solos……

Really too bad. Adjustable handles, high-tech chassis and that Husky engine look to be a nice machine.
