Driving up from Texas? Now that’s a road trip!!!

No worries about Red Wing traffic. Any reason for using the Sturgeon Access? Not sure of the condition, but I would not leave anything of value in your vehicle there.

I use the sturgeon lake access a lot throughout the summer, and I have never had an issue vandalism or theft. It is at the of a road, deep in the indian rez, and people do party down there from time to time, but I wouldn’t worry about it.

The NSP plant security and police dept routinely patrol that lot, and ever since they started doing that, it has been fine.

Before the patrols were happening, if you didn’t have the right kind of license plate on your vehicle…you’d be lucky to have windows left or air in your tires.

    Ditto on that Jon!

I think it’s full of ice, Sturgeon Lake I mean.

Might want to have an alternate ramp in mind.

Thanks for the reply and info. I will be there this May and entered in the FLW Tournament. Orignally the tournament was out of Red Wing and now has been moved from Red Wing to Treasure Island Resort. I am not familiar with this area, the only boat ramp I have found in this area is the Sturgeon Lake public boat ramp. Are there any other boat ramps within the area or the Treasure Island Resort?
Also, do you know of any places to stay around Hastings that are boat friendly (ie.parking, hookups etc…)? As of now I have reservations in Lake City, as I thought the tournament was going to be in Red Wing. Thank you for any help. Jon it is a road trip about 1100 miles.
