What does it mean when the charger is flashing desulfation abort? The battery will charge fine for about five minutes then start to rapid flash meaning the above. The terminals are like brand new and the connection is good. The battery is a sealed battery made in late 03. I think I already know the answer but could use some help.

I think it is time to replace it and thank the battery gods it lasted that long.

It sounds like it is going into Battery Recondition, at least that is what it is called on my ‘Smart’ charger. But I have to hit a different button for mine to do that.

    What charger is it?

It’s a ship to shore automatic charger.

Desulfication should only be done and a lead acid battery, and I’m not sure you should do that on a sealed battery either…
