Dushaneis is about 4-6 miles southeast of Hastings I believe, the road is named something like Ravier? As far as the 14 mile ride, is that doable in a 17′ Alum with a 75hrs and a troller? Or are we talking canoe.

I’m guessing it’s jet boat only friendly.

Also, be advised that the 14 mile journey that Mack is referring to is 95% inland waters, which means when the Minnesota walleye/bass season is closed, those species cannot be targeted.

There is approximately 3/4 mile border water from the access going south, and then the last mile or so of the Vermillion, where it dumps into the Mississippi.

it depends on the time of year and the water levels, dead of summer when water is at its lowest NO there are some spots that get real shallow, sometimes in late spring/early summer it is doable.

with high water in the spring, you should be able to run the entire way to pool 4. with REGULAR water levels…no way will you make it with that rig or almost any prop boat without pushing across sandbars and hitting numerous deadheads. the run from Etter to Calishans can be very treacherous to anything but a mudmotor to say the least.

you could try it during summer, but be careful. and there is one stretch where you WILL HAVE TO push across two sandbars, these i can not always make it across in my mudboat even.
