Got it on a good authority that there is company coming out with an alternative to lead. Titianiam. It is supposed to hit the shelves in March.
Would you pay the extra price for the lead replacement?

Titanium is a very light, strong metal. That seems to defeat the premise behind a good sinker material.

A guy on the project said about 6 inches in the bottom of a five gallon bucket weighed about 100 lbs. it might be a variation of some sort.

Titanium is not actually lighter than lead, it is that you need less of it to do the same job as it is stronger than lead.

I would guess tungsten as well. They are using it in shotgun shells to replace lead as well. It is a dense heavy metal.

I am going to get ahold of a few and try them out on the lake this weekend.

I always thought that Titanium was pretty scarce, therefore the price of it.
