    Which one?

It is hard to keep track of them all, but there is not one of them who should not be playing in this league! They are all good backs. I do think though that you will see Bennet get traded this off season. I don’t like the idea, but I understand it. He has been injured alot the last two seasons.

In a school just outside Minneapolis, a first grade teacher explains to

her class that she is a Vikings Fan. She asks her students to raise
    their
hands if they are Vikings fans too. Not really knowing what a Vikings
    fan is,
but wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands all fly into the
    air.
However, there is one exception. A little boy named Timmy has not gone

along with the crowd. The teacher asks him why he has decided to be
    different.
“Because I am not a Vikings fan.” says Timmy.
“Then,” asks the teacher, “what are you?”
Timmy says “I am a proud Green Bay Packers fan!”
The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red.
She asks Timmy why he is a Packers fan.
“Well, my Mom and Dad are Packer fans, so I’m a Packers fan too,”
    Timmy responds.
The teacher is now angry! “That’s no reason,” she says loudly.
“What if your Mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot?
Timmy smiled and said, “THEN I’d be a Vikings Fan.”

Hey guy, appreciate the Twins. They play hard, have talent and actually won/went to the World Series in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Unlike, the pathetic Brewers, for whatever reason the Twins have been able to field decent teams.

Yes, I am a Packer Fan who wishes the Twins would relocate to Milwaukee. Whomever is running that club has done a great job.

As for the Vikes, control is in the hands of their ownership, and that is not good for you Minnesota folks. On the Wisconsin side of the border the Pack will be with us long after my funeral and that is was makes Green Bay so special.

Don’t you mean, that’s what makes the Packers unique? I’d hate to argue with the rest of America that the rest of the NFL isn’t special.

Do you really think that a pathetic Defense like the queens have should be blamed on the head coach??? You can only teach those linebackers sooooo much! Pretty soon they need to get their head in the game and pull it out of their A$%!!!!!

Randy Moss’s attitude can be blamed on poor coaching. What player walks off of the field with time on the clock. Hopefully if his coach has a back bone he will put him on the bench for the game. I don’t mind the Vikings but I HATE MOSS!!!!

You’re right, Krisko. Moss is the biggest cancer on that team. If the coaching staff is to blame at all for the Vikings being 8-8, it’s to blame for not putting guys like Moss on the bench. They should have traded him a couple years ago–get a lot while they can. This team doesn’t have a talent problem and it doesn’t have a coaching problem. It has some kind of an attitude problem and Moss is the ring leader. It’s all about him. His actions yesterday said everything, not to mention what he said and did three or four years ago. If they get rid of Moss, I’d bet you would see a big change in this teams attitude. No one wants to say anything, though.

You’re probably right about trading him, but I think before they do that, it would do the team good to have Tice rip him apart in front of the whole team just so as to send a message to others, such as Campbell, who have followed Moss’ example. Who knows, maybe getting ripped up and suspended for the playoffs in front of the whole team might just turn the guy around, and light a fire under the rest of the teams collective a$$es as well.

Also, send that Adam Goldberg back to the practice squad!

I checked in on the game just before the half and saw that they were down 14-3 at that point. All I could think of is how bad the ‘skins have been this year against all the talent in Vikings offense and thought, “3 points???” A team that really believes they belong in the playoffs would have sent a very clear message of “who’s coming to dinner”, via the Washington Redskins! When “my boys” only had 3 points at the half, I knew the heart had no belief and only a miracle would save them. Daunte’s having a record year and very little to show for it. I feel bad for him… I think he’s a good guy and a great player. I hate to say it but I too……… wouldn’t miss Randy Moss at all. They played as a team the same or better without him. Ship off Moss and bring back Robert Smith!!!! Sorry…….. couldn’t resist.

Anyway………. I didn’t even bother with the game and spent some time with the family. I wasn’t surprised to find out they lost it……… and I didn’t have to live through the torment.

having been a viking fan for a hundred years, they don’t deserve to be in any playoffs. i’m not so sure they could beat the mn. gophers, but we still keep hopin. enough about them, since i see no where to mention HOW ABOUT THOSE IOWA HAWKEYES IN CAPITAL ONE BOWL they had alot less to work with this year than the vikings. they wanted to win.

Moss missed five games and had 13 TD catches. How many more were called back due to stupid penalties on the O-line? At least one last Sunday. How many more missed opportunities due to false starts in the red zone? How can the o-line keep pooch-pumpin’? Wasn’t Tice a former o-line coach? Granted, some of the starters are out, and Birk has been sorely missed in the last few weeks, but how many times were the Vikes inside the ten and backed themselves out of scoring position by making dumb mistakes?

As for Moss, I think he had to be about as fed up as I was. I think walking off was the wrong thing to do, no matter how hopeless, he should’ve stuck it out. Someone mentioned the 2002 team? What was in their playbook other than “Hail Mary to Moss, Touchdown!” That was the Vikes total offense for about three years, and now it seems like he almost never gets the ball. If Tice wants to win, he needs to be taking more chances, and Moss is good enough on the field to get the job done. Five games missed and 13 TD’s; Owens missed what, 2 games? If it weren’t for the hold on Sunday Moss would’ve tied him with 14 TD catches. Who’s the best WR in the NFL?

Off the field, he does a ton of work with handicapped kids. How many touchdown balls did he hand over the wall this year to kids in wheelchairs? Where do you suppose those kids got thier tickets? The problems he had off the field a few years ago seem to be gone. There have never been problems on the field, and if the sideline is the only place where he’s raising hell, then the coach needs to get it fixed, but without Moss, Culpepper is an average (at best) quarterback, and the other WR’s are facing the full defensive secondary, and probably not coming out on top (except Wiggins, who’s just plain cool).

The biggest problem I have is with the running back by committee. Bennett might be good, but come on – he’s missed half of the last two seasons. Moe and Ontario are both top-notch running backs, probably two of the most underrated in the league. Any one of the three could easily carry the load, and I think if Bennett’s going to be out half the games, he might as well sit out the other half also.

Daunte’s stats are huge this year and it’s not because of Randy Moss. If it weren’t for Mannings unbelieveable year, Culpepper would be the top rated QB in the league! That’s just a bit shy of “average”. Randy gets good stats every year but the ball didn’t get spread around like it is this year, to show that the job can still be done without him. No one says he’s not talented. I’m just tired of seeing so many look up to him when he has yet to show the ability to rise above his discouragements. He hasn’t showed championship mindset nearly as much as he’s just shown to do a lot of griping. Yes, this year has been the most tolerable since is ’98 rookie season, but I’m still waiting to see him rise up as an asset of edification and team morale.

And Randy’s not the only one doing large amounts of charity work. He’s one of many in the NFL that do so. If you want to give charity accolades to Vikings member, look into Ragnar, the mascot. That guy really leads the organization in influencing charity involvements.

Randy did mature some this year…………. but he’s got a long way to go to match up with the likes of guys like Reggie White or Robert Smith. They balanced performance and character about as well as any player I’ve ever seen take the field.

Moss is a cancer to the team. Look at what they did without him and his crap while he was hurt. They have 3 other top receivers and a good tightend. They don’t need him….His attitude is what brings that team down….Plus it doesn’t matter what he does off the field it is how he conducts himself on the field that millions see. He’s just looking for camera time and hype and it gets him NO WHERE!!! Ask the Viking fans many don’t want him on the team.

I just saw the idiot head coach on the TV. The commentators are laughing at him. He isn’t doing anything about last Sunday’s incident…except that “He made a big mistake, and he’ll have to make some big plays to make up for it next Sunday.” What a spineless coach. BENCH HIM! Anywhere else in the league he’d be riding the bench…Example Keshawn Johnson Tampa Bay. Chucky didn’t put up with crap….

The other WR’s are, IMO, average. How many jump balls are intentionally thrown to someone other than Moss? If Moss weren’t doubled every play, do you guys really believe that anyone on the team would have stats like they put up this year? C’mon. You may not like his primadonna crapola that he pulls, but it’s been improving.

So when you compare Moss to the best qualities extracted from 5 or 6 hand-picked people he doesn’t stack up? So what? Who does? I guess Moss doesn’t have the goodwill of Mother Theresa, the Spiritual life of PJPII, the passing ability of Peyton Manning, the singing voice of Poveratti, and the cycling ability of Lance Armstrong. What a loser. Oh no wait… his job is to catch the ball, make a move, and get in the end-zone (in any order) – something he’s done more per game than any other NFL wideout.

I’ve been a Vikes fan long enough to remember cheering for nothin’ teams headed nowhere. At least now I can say they have talent. Who’s responsibility is it to bring the team together? Without a coach or a quarterback that can do it, they’re just a bunch of talent running open-loop. Moss did something dumb… something disrespectful. That doesn’t make him responsible for a 2-20 record outdoors. He’s a convenient point of blame, and it’s not deserved.

I tend to agree with you regarding Randy Moss, albeit I am a Packer Fan. The guy played in 107 straight games and is clearly the best WR in the NFL. However, the Vikes problems for the most part rest with Mike Tice. Just listen to his comments after the last few games. Instead of focusing on the poor play of the Vikes he respond is simply were in and that means we are better then 10 of the 16 teams in the NFC.

Thank God he doesn’t coach the Pack.

Dim Tice is an idiot. And yes, IT IS A COACHING PROBLEM!!!!!!!

Being a coach isn’t about calling plays…….Being a coach is about building leadership, integrity, commorodity, TEAMWORK, motivation, tearing players down and building them back up—-back up to “your style”.

Tice CAN’T do this. He is a great play caller, but the guy can’t “COACH”. Think back to your high school years and playing football…….look back to when and why you were “chewed out”. Tice can’t “coach”—–not when you build your team around the “Randy factor”….what are you doing, building your team around one player???? Yes, GB has built their team around Favre, but he is the QB, he is suppose to be the leader on the field. The players look to him for guidance, but Moss isn’t in the that position, it isn’t his job. Prior to Moss, we had Carter, who was also a cancer……but a great player……but a cancer…..and he taught Moss……..who is a great player, but a cancer……..These two people have infected the entire team and the COACH can’t COACH them out of it and control it. What would have happened to you in high school, if you would have pulled off what Moss has done?????

Another bit of proof……..Look at Hovan. Think about it……..The man was trained by ALL TIME GREAT John Randle. John Randle was probably one of the best D-man to play the game. He had it all……And that guy trained Hovan. Randle taught Hovan all the tricks, moves, plays……He taught Hovan what works and what doesn’t……..The only thing remaining is heart and strength/speed…….Hovan has the strength and speed…..The guy is BIG and FAST………But he has no heart and the COACH can’t bring it out of him to do it.

Look at the beginning of our season. Moss took a leadership roll and took control of the game. It was awesome. It was a new Moss. AND WE KICKED BUT!!!! Then Moss gets hurt……..and the motivation and momentem dies…….and the COACH can’t bring it back………why, because the COACH never started it, lead it, or carried that momemtem and motivation from the get go………..

Tice sucks and needs to go back to play calling up in the box………HE CAN’T COACH!!!!!!!! Going 8-8 in this season and lossing to the teams we did is all about a COACHING PROBLEM…….

Do you suppose someone just needs to point them to Daunte and say, “He’s in charge”? If the Pack can build around Favre, shouldn’t we be able to build around Daunte? Well, that means we’re going to need some good receivers, right? Okay……. There’s the Culpepper/Moss locomotive. But, it would seem that just like any other loud mouth WR in the league, the leadership has been assumed by the wrong half. So, as a coach, this should be identified and corrected. If the players don’t respond to the coach, maybe they’d respond to the QB’s numbers? That should be reason enough. Of all the QB’s to have on your team, Culpepper is easily a top 5 pick. The coach should point to the performance and let that QB be the magic!

Look at how the team responds whem Favre gets fired up! Or any of the other leading QB’s (yesteryear or otherwise). Teams with a leading QB win SuperBowl’s! The QB should have the trust of the other players to the level of slowing or calming them when necessary, as well as firing them up to perform the next phenominal, game making play.

I think the Vikings may very well have the leader they need, he’s just not getting properly reinforced.

Honestly…….. we can armchair this all day, every day, but I think it starts with the attitude at the top and I for one………. if I was to do an organizational analysis, I would first recommend that McCombs becomes a silent partner or sell out. He got spoiled by his first few seasons as an owner and ……… I don’t need to tear him apart. You’re all smart enough to know what I’m driving at. Red needs to go……….

    Custody Battle Ruling

A seven year old Kansas City boy was at the center of a courtroom drama this morning when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of the boy.
The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge awarded custody to his aunt.
The boy confirmed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and refused to live there. When the judge suggested that he live with his grandparents the boy cried out that they beat him more than anyone.
The judge dramatically allowed the boy to choose who should have custody of him.
Custody was granted to the Minnesota Vikings this morning as the boy firmly believes that they are not capable of beating anyone.

It’s mid week and I have finally recovered from the beating my Packer friends have been giving me. It’s been another tough year to be a Viking fan. I know every sports media outlet have the Vikes losing again to the Pack. But…….everyone seems to forget how close both Viking/Packer games were this year. I don’t know how Tice or anyone can rally the Purple to a victory, but I think they can pull off the upset. Favre needs to throw 3 interceptions and Moss/Buerleson need some big receptions.

    Vikings – 31
    Packers – 21

Kid, I think you’re right on. If Culpepper stepped up and took more of a leadership role, the Vikes would be a GOOD team. They could easily be as GOOD as the packers, but without a new coach they will never be the EXCELLENT team that they have the talent and tools to become.

GOOD teams in the league, like the Pack and the Colts, have solid leaders on the field… If I look at that TOP teams in the league – Steelers and Pats, there are outstanding players and big plays, but the leadership is coming from the sidelines.

Get over it Brett you are washed up. Retire and become an announcer like all the other over the hill quarterbacks.

This is what you wrote before the first Viking Packer game.
Do you honestly thnk Favre is that bad. This guy has the ability to get it done!
What was the deal with the viking recievers in the 2nd half. It’s sad when the national tv audience gets to see Culpepper runnin for his life while his receivers are lalligaggin down the field.
All in all it was a great game to watch because of the lack of defense on both side. The Packers aren’t going anywhere if they can’t tackle! Which they didn’t today!

I still think Favre is completely washed up. after tonight’s game I doubt anyone can argue that.
