What did Pedro Martinez say at the end of the regular season? “New York’s my daddy!”

We just have not played well against them since that game we lost years ago when Phil Simms completed that 4th and 19 pass and went on to beat us.

    Packers 3-4 vikings 6-0 last year. I think I smell a repeat.

Do you know what the Packers have in common with a hunter in the woods without a gun?

Neither one of them can stop the Bears!!

No offense intended, but what does what happened over the last ten years have to do with what has already happened this year?

as the saying goes anyone can beat anyone on any giving night so by going back 10 yrs you can get a better idea on the strength of the team. no offense taken

Did anybody out there find themselves scratching the melon on some of the coaching decisions lastnight?

This team looks to be very poorly coached the last two weeks. I hate mental mistakes!! A 15 yard penalty at the end of the game for hitting the QB, come on. A fumble the first play of the game. I’m done venting!!

I guess I can understand the call for the hit on Manning, but I have to work hard to do it. What I think really killed us last night was the very poor play of our linebackers. They blew sooooo many coverages, and they couldn’t tackle to save their lives.

The straw that broke our backs though was that left handed shovel pass during that final drive. If we had stopped them there, we probably would get the ball back and drove for a score with the clock running out on them, not us.

Time management continues to be a huge problem for Tice. He will always let 5-10 seconds run off of the clock before he makes a decision to call a time out. The clock management before the half was horrible. We should have had time to call a timeout and throw the ball into the endzone before the half. If it isn’t there Culpepper has proven that he’s capable of throwing the ball away, and we get the field goal anyway. Just pathetic. The Vikes got lucky to get back into the game.

The loss to Indy didn’t bother me that much. The coaching mistakes and many missed tackles hurt more. We dropped two potential interceptions, again. I have trouble understanding why we don’t call a time out before half time, with 8-9 seconds remaining to try a shot in the end zone. Instead, Tice and company were happy to get a field goal attempt. With the mistakes listed above, I think they did pretty well to keep the game close.

Off to Lambeau, I have a good feeling about this game. The Vikes should be pretty confident, and a fired up, to get a win. Before the bye, the Packer defense looked to be improving. We need to run ball well, and let’s get the screen pass going again. Ontario Smith will have a big game, and Culpepper will run for one touchdown, and throw for another. Go Vikes!

Sandbar, no offense, but did you drink your lunch? I am neither a Packer fan nor a viking fan, but how in the world is the vikings defense, or lack there of, going to contain Favre, and green? I think the sisters of the poor could do a better job on defense than the vikings. Again, no offense.

    Lenny,

hope you are not going to the Pack-Viking Game. There are already to many folks that will be headed back to Minnesota depressed. This is a repeat of last year; however, for the Viking fans their season will be ending much sooner then in 2003. Packers 31 Vikings 20

Lenny, Good to have you back! I missed you there bug pusscake! Anyways…… Was’nt indy’s secondary the worst in the league???? Why did they wait so long to start throwing the ball???? They did’nt start till midway through the 2nd quarter. I like Tice, but he does make some dumb decisions! Did he learn them from Fat Dummy???

    Fishinbuddy,

You got me, that two hour lunch and 8 beers must have made me a little goofy. I am a Viking fan, so….. the glass is always half full and I believe they can win every week. Yes, the Vikings defense looks pretty rotten sometimes. They will step up this week, instead of dropping potential interceptions, they will CATCH them. Turnovers can change a game in hurry. As GB fans know, my little buddy Favre likes to throw a few ducks up every game. My Packer friends are coming over for a party Sunday, if your prediction is true, it will be a long afternoon. I still say Vikes win 33-17. Remember, the Lambeau mystique is gone…..

P.S. Since you’re not a GB or Vikings fan….What team are you a fan of?

I say the Vikes will win 27-21. Favre will throw two picks and fumble the ball twice. As long as Favre is in the game the Vikes have a shot at winning…..But hey, he has a bad thumb..again. I hate whining pusscakes. He is old and nothing more than a barely adequate quarterback.

    Fishinbuddy,

Oh no…a Cowboy fan…yikes!! You could have at least been a Bears fan, since you live Wisc. The rivalry between the Vikes and Packers is always fun. I will catch heck all day Sunday if the Packers win, but will dish it out when the Vikes win. To keep your Packer fan wife quiet, start feeding her Old Style around 10:00 am. By the time the game starts, she’ll be passed out on the couch! (j/k)

Do you realize what you just said. Are you actually encouraging the distribution of alcohol to a packer fan? They don’t need any help being obnoxious. Besides, if she is on the couch, then, well never mind, this is a family website.

Amazing, already Monday afternoon and not one Vike fan has responded to yesterday’s game. I guess the bottom line is this one proved to be a toss-up, but unlike the Pack who will continue to play better, the Vikes have a habit of fading toward season’s end.

Very fun game to watch. The Packer fans at my house were pretty civil. It was tough watching the Vikings battle back in the second half, and come up short. Some pretty questionable calls by the referees, for both teams. I really don’t like loosing to the Packers. I think the “motor city kitties” are in for a whoopin this weekend.
