Do you think the guys at ESPN know more about the Packers than you do? I doubt it. I know if BC hangs out on the X4 board, he knows more about the Pack than Merril Hoge or Dork Salisbury does. Maybe Jaworski may notice that breaking down film or something, but most of the talking heads aren’t watching WR’s on running plays. I’ve seen Harrison do nothing on running plays away from his side.
If Moss is such a bum, how come all his teammates love him to death? The only two guys who ever had a problem with Moss are Robert Smith and Todd Stuessie. Other than that, his teammates love him.
The guy has NEVER missed a trainging camp practice in his career. He and Matt Birk were the only two before Birk got hurt this year.
I don’t care if he has a dark cloud over him nationally. Maybe he always will. That is one thing I like about Randy. He knows the media will be against him, so he doesn’t give them the time of day. He doesn’t sign autographs for adults. He spends a ton of time signing for kids though. He visits sick kids. He gives TD’s to them. He takes buses of kids to amusment parks in the offseason. All the stuff that is never highlighted in the media.
“my boy”. Not really. I’m sure he wouldn’t give me the time of day either. And, I’m a bigger Daunte and Kevin Williams fan than Moss. But, sometimes you just gotta speak up when the same old crap is run out as fact.
September 15, 2004 at 3:08 pm #321232Dan buddy…
What has been said that isn’t fact about Moss? and Yes i agree…he does do nice things for kids…and your correct that the media probably won’t ever cover it, but who’s fault is that? don’t act like a moron and people won’t think you are one.
Are we going fishing soon?
September 15, 2004 at 5:55 pm #321275Thought this was Ha Ha funny. From KFAN Vikings chat room.
Timmy the Viking Fan
In a school just outside Green Bay, a first grade teacher explained to her class that she is a Packer fan. She asked her students to raise their hands if they are Packer fans too not really knowing what a Packer fan is, but wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands all fly into the air.
However, there is one exception. A little boy named Timmy has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks him why he has decided to be different. “Because I am not a Packer fan.” says Timmy.
“Then,” asks the teacher,”what are you?”
Timmy says “I am a proud Minnesota Vikings fan!”
The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Timmy why he is a Vikings fan.
“Well, my Mom and Dad are Vikings fans so I’m a Vikings fan, too,” Timmy responds.
The teacher is now angry. “That’s no reason,” she says loudly. “What if your Mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot?”
Timmy smiled and said, “THEN I’d be a Packers Fan.”
September 16, 2004 at 7:32 pm #321491Man,
I get steamed talking about this!
You wana talk apples and apples?
Green has been in the nfl 7 years
Bennett has been in the nfl 4 years
Green has rushed for 100yds on the vikes twice
Bennett has rushed for 100yds on the pack twice
When michael was healthy in 2002 (2nd year in the league)
Bennett rushed for 1296yds
Green for 1240yds
Im not even going to touch moss because we all KNOW hes the man!

September 16, 2004 at 7:57 pm #321492Hall..
lol….i’m gonna steam ya moreThis will be Green’s 7th year…his first two years he barely played with Seattle, carrying the ball a total of 61 times over a 2 year span…so throw those out.
And since joining the pack in 2000, has run for 4 consecutive 1000yd+ seasons….
So if you disregard Seattle, Greens 2nd year as a started yielded 1387yrds…
I think we’re comparing Red and GREEN apples here
September 16, 2004 at 9:20 pm #321501I disagree with you you Slop. You do have to count Green’s first 2 years. A year in the pros, is a year in the pros. It’s nobody’s fault but his own that he wasn’t “The Man” at Seattle. Also, look at how many times he handles the ball in Green Bay. With 25-30 carries a game, he’d better be able to rush 1000 yards in 16 games or else hit the showers!
The Vikings don’t need Bennett to carry the ball that many times with the other players on that team.September 16, 2004 at 11:12 pm #321510MAYBE JUST MAYBE CULPEPPER HAS MATURED INTO A CLASS ONE QUARTERBACK, I HOPE SO. BEEN A VIKING FAN SINCE I WAS OLD ENOUGH TO THROW THE FOOTBALL
September 17, 2004 at 2:43 am #321535hmmmmmm…
wasnt holmgren…,the wizzard of the packs return, the seattle gm and coach at that time??? That proves what the packer oranization does to decent people…
September 17, 2004 at 1:09 pm #321554I just want to add that every player in the league takes plays “off”. It was just dumb of Moss to admit it.
Also, there is no receiver in the league that blocks every time. Most reciever blocks are half efforts unless it is a crucial block, at which time they usually do a fine job (when they have to).
We tend to sit back an over think this stuff. Remember, football is a job to these guys. They don’t want to get hurt and they don’t want to get somebody else hurt. It is easy for us “fans” to sit back and judge but talk to some of the players. There take on the game is much different.
Oh, and even the players think Moss is a great reciever!
September 17, 2004 at 2:17 pm #321572Did you see the comments TO didn’t make about this week’s match up. I about fell out of my chair when he kept his mouth shut. I think aliens have invaded him. Monday night, NFC championship preview!!! Go Vikes!!!!!
September 24, 2004 at 2:06 pm #322373Good luck to the Purple this weekend. I think the offense will be “opening” things up a bit. Chicago is not a team to take lightly, hopefully they are not to pumped from kicking Green Bay’s rear.
Mr. Moss will catch 3 TD’s Sunday, Mr. Robinson will catch 2 TD’s, and Daunte will run one in.
Final
Vikings 45
Da Bears 17September 27, 2004 at 3:04 pm #322537It sure is quiet on the football threads considering the Vikes pulled out a win and the Pack snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
Not to mention, the KC Cheifs 0-3.
September 27, 2004 at 7:06 pm #322577The Vikes snuck out a win IMO…And they sure stunk up the place doing it….and I am a Born Mn. fan..
heres to another tough season
September 27, 2004 at 7:07 pm #322578Grossman is done for the season. He ruptured a ligament in his knee. The season keeps getting better for the Bears.
October 11, 2004 at 9:54 pm #3238623-1 baby!!!! This weekend’s game ended up a lot closer than it should have been but they pulled together just enough to escape with the win. With the injured players they have right now any win is a good win.
How about Culpepper and the Vikes passing game. WOW!!! I know it is early in the season but Culpepper is on pace for nearly 5,00 yds. and 52 tds. He is looking good and the recievers are catching the ball and making the most of the short passes.
GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!

October 19, 2004 at 7:02 am #324829605 yards!!!!! 5 td passes. very good. but giving up 31 points is not good. the defense needs to step it up alittle, okay more than a little. fewer penalties, fewer turnovers.
GO VIKES, GO VIKES
Jack…October 19, 2004 at 11:22 am #324832Daunte and company sure looked good. It was really nice to see the offense continue to score even with Randy Moss out.
If the defense can continue to improve weekly, the Vikes could make a good run. Mewelde Moore looks like he’s been in the NFL for a few years.

Posts: 2294October 19, 2004 at 2:27 pm #324854I’m hoping that the defense will improve as we get more of our starters back. As for the offense, WHOA!!
Can you even imagine what they will be like when we get Bennett and Smith back into the game?
I can’t wait for Nov.14th, when we go into Green Bay! I’ve got tickets for that game, and will be proudly wearing Purple and Gold from head to toe.
October 27, 2004 at 3:42 am #325622I’d say this weekend’s game was the best of the year so far the the Guys in purple. Even with Moss on the bench they held their own and their defense even showed up to play. It was a solid 60 minute performance.
By the way, how about that Mewelde Moore??? What a find!!!
GO VIKES!!!!!!

October 27, 2004 at 11:31 am #325194Agreed, the win over the Titans was impressive. The defense really played well forcing some key turnovers. Hovan even had a good game!
I think the defense will play well again this week and put pressure on Warner. I think the Vikes will pound on the Giants, 33-13. Eli Manning may see some action if we can get Warner to throw a few picks.

October 28, 2004 at 2:45 am #325757I think that the vikes played a decent game but it looked like the offense stalled for a little bit. I am hoping that they will be able to get some major points up on the board. let the big bad D put the hurtin on warner.

Posts: 2294October 28, 2004 at 5:35 am #325765Thats true, he’s well coached, and should have a long career because of it.
Only thing is, when hes not running to avoid a tackle, he’s running to the sidelines after scoring another TOUCHDOWN!!
November 1, 2004 at 7:21 pm #326079What is going on with the Giants and Vikings? The Vikings really choked yesterday. I was having flash backs of the 41-0 kicking we took a few years ago.
It was one of those games where nothing went right. When the Giants fumbled three times, and recovered them all, I knew we were doomed. And to top things off, Kurt Warner beat us!
I hope this team wakes up. Indy Monday night and the Pack the following week, can’t afford to loose the next two. Good luck to the Purple Monday night.

Vikes – 42
