After Sean lands that pike he says “I go all the way to Canada, fish all week, drive all day to get here and catch a bigger pike on my 5th cast off the shore than I caught all week up north!”

And they breed ’em so tough on the ‘Ol Miss that you’ve gotta roll them in the sand to get them to give up. Pike wrestling……. think its got a future as an olympic event……

Hey Sean, did that pike have a #5 perch colored Shad Rap in its mouth? A pike just like that tore my rap off when fishing from the dock on Friday.

Couldn’t swing a dead cat without whackin’ a gator that weekend. Is that a trout stream or spring-fed creek that dumps in there by the resort?

That’s the trimbel… a little trout stream that pumps in the cooler water. I caught 3 out of there 2 mornings ago on top water which was a hoot. The 3rd one came out of the water about 2′ before the chugger and pile drived down from above, cut me off and then did a cart wheel about a foot above the water before bouncing off the corner of the dock.

    Silly fish made me laugh.

Seems like no matter where you’re at, cold water running in stacks ’em up like there’s no tomorrow.

Yup. The warmer the weather the better too. These cooler days have killed that pike bite. No reason for them to sneak up in there in big numbers with the water temps falling into the upper 60’s I guess. Or they’re still there and they choose not to eat during our little cold snap.
