Have been coming to the lake in Wis. for years. Can someone explain why they mark the dead deer on the roads with green or orange spray paint??

Wisconsin’s DNR has lots of money. First they send out someone to mark dead deer so that if the guy sent out to pick them up hads a head cold and can’t smell them he has a visual reference. They are color coordinated according to damage. The really bad ones go to the dump or incinerator. The other color goes to the Packer training facilities for stir-fry.

Maybe the Minnesota DNR needs to send some to Eden Prairie?

No wonder Wis. don’t have any $$$!!!!! I have a friend that collects taxes from his neighbors and then takes in to the county court house. In Iowa we just send the taxes to the court house.

The law enforcement officers Spray paint a mark on the deer after they are done reporting them. This way they can keep track of which deer has been reported and which ones haven’t. Not to mention we figure we need to give the viking fans something else to complain about!

I thought Wi quit picking up deer carcases years ago to save money? Do they pick them up or just leave them lay?

They are picked up. I believe there are private people that do it.

These “Packer” people aren’t fussy….they take a cool one too. And one with a little bloat for that home cooked aroma.

After this actually happened a few years back, putting spray paint on the deer would leave some evidence behind….if you know what I mean.

The honest answer does have to do with the earn a buck program!!

Didn’t your WI education teach you the difference between antlers and horns?

Education? Its genetics. And beer. That said, it can’t be helped.
