I am going to be re spooling a few rods spinning and some trolling. What is everyone’s preferred mono or floro line they use?

I started using Sufix Advance last season for pitching. I really liked it. Very abrasion resistant and a lot less stretch than conventional mono.
Still cant go wrong with Sufix Elite.
I really only use fluorocarbon for leaders. I use Sufix 100% Fluorocarbon Leader Material.
January 9, 2019 at 8:55 am #1824478I have basically switched all my reels to P-Line CX. It is a fluorocarbon coated mono based line. Like Stren Magnathin it’s diameter is about 1 size down from most standard mono’s. 8# is the same diameter as normal 6# line and it’s very strong and quite limp. It also doesn’t absorb water like standard mono’s do and does not have as much stretch.

For trolling I have been running either Trilene Sensation 12lb or Sufix Siege 10lb to match the line diameter (0.012) for the Precision Trolling charts. I’ll likely be getting Sufix Advance 10lb this year to give it a test drive.
Hope this helps, good luck.

Flouro has about the same amount of stretch as mono but for ice fishing or for leader material stretch is usually not an issue.

January 10, 2019 at 7:49 am #1824819P-Line CX or Floroclear regarding my mono/co-polymer needs. I only use Fluorocarbon for leaders so generally go with Seaguar Blue Label Fluorocarbon Leader.

If you need/like a little more stretch try either Trilene XL mono or most any fluorocarbon, although I wouldn’t want straight fluorocarbon on a spinning reel, only as a leader tied to braid for me.
January 10, 2019 at 1:01 pm #1824939Look like I will be giving the P-line a try. Thank you everyone!

Can’t find suffix advance anywhere. How do you feel it would do drifting points and shorelines? I’m assuming it’s more buoyant than braid?
January 14, 2019 at 8:04 am #1825786I was at Marine General in Duluth and they had some. Amazon also has it.
