help with old Evinrude 65 Triumph

As stated above, this motor is an older Evinrude outboard, and it says Triumph on the front of the cowling. It’s a 3 cylinder 65 hp motor on my step-dad’s boat. When you hit the throttle, it hardly ever takes off like it should. Once in a while, it’ll set you back in your chair like it should, but not very often.
I was looking at it tonight, and I think I found the problem. Pictures aren’t very good, but if you look real close, you can see there is a piece of linkage missing. Not on the throttle cable, which is on the left side, but on the linkage that seems to be connected to the choke. You can see the plastic piece that should be holding the metal link, and then on the bottom of the pic you should be able to see the rotary item that doesn’t even have the plastic piece in it. I imagine this HAS to be the problem.

The model number of this motor is 65373R and the serial is J012254, I believe. Can’t tell if there’s a 1 right after the J in the serial. I think the motor is around a 1973 model.
So….can anyone help point me in the direction of this fix? I know it’ll be important to find the right linkage piece to make sure it all works the way it should. Thanks–

Got a place up here you could call and see what they know Twin cities outboard http://www.twincityoutboard.com/ beware their hours are stupid, other than that they have been decent to me.

Thanks again- got the part ordered thru our local marine parts shop and I bet that motor will turn into a speed demon. I’ve been in it a few times and you never know when that one cylinder would kick in. But if it did, you better be sitting down. Now I bet it’ll run a lot better ALL of the time.

Oh, and the little linkage part that’s needed? $27!! I think it’ll be worth it for dad though.
