GAMEHIDE’s RUBLINE JACKET PRODUCT REVIEW

Alright, after a real true test of GAMEHIDE’S RUBLINE jacket this past weekend I’m ready to give an opinion of this jacket. This jacket is from their HyperHide series. This past weekend while in Hoven, SD pheasant hunting in some colder temps and stiff winterly winds, Stacie and I were both very impressed with the RUBLINE jacket’s ability to not only keep you warm, but also to bloclk and shut out that wind completely while remaining very comfortable and absolutely whisper quiet. This past weekend, I wore was a long sleeve shirt on underneath the RUBLINE jacket, with my bird vest on over the top and stayed warm and comfortable the entire weekend out hunting those wiley South Dakota Roosters. When the sun did happen to peak out on Saturday, it did get a little warm (above freezing) and both Staice and I were able to adjust and use the AirFlow zippers in the arm pits to ventilate and keep cool and dry while on the move. This jacket comes in 3 different camouflage patterns including my favorite “Naked North”, but Stacie and I wore the jacket in the Loden color this past weekend. The RUBLINE jacket has a draw cord at the waist plus inner cuffs on the wrists seal out cold drafts, zippered hand warmer pockets, plus large internal pocket bags on zippered chest pockets hold lots of gear but keep a clean front that won’t interfere with your bow string, it also has a rear zip storage pocket. To top it all off it even has call loops for right and left hand shooters keep call lanyards away from bow string. Just like GAMEHIDE’s TYPHOON RAIN GEAR series I reviewed earlier this year, this HyperHide series is very detail oriented with the Hunter and Outdoors person in mind. I think this jacket would appeal to the bird hunter, bowhunter, gun hunter and outdoors enthusiast a like. Both Stacie and I have worn our RUBLINE jackets out on those cold nights on Mille Lacs this Fall, Pheasant Hunting on those cold afternoons, and even in every day life situations. We couldn’t be more pleased with the looks and performance of this jacket.

I have tried all different types of Wind stopping material and products in jackets, shirts, sweatshirts, etc. This HYPERHIDE material and the RUBLINE jacket is by far the best jacket I have ever worn for comfort, regulating my body temperature, being ultra quiet and knocking down that nasty cold winterly wind that robs my body of it’s warmth on those cold days in the field. Those are exactly the qualities I look for in my hunting but in particularly my bow-hunting clothes. I look forward to using the RUBLINE this Fall hunting and my long sits in the stand over thee next few months. Without a hesitation I give the HYPERHIDE RUBLINE lineup from GAMEHIDE a 2 and would not go with out it now. A definite must have in any serious hunters closet. They also make the HyperHide Rub-Line series in a 100% waterproof and breathable version called the “DRIZZLE” lineup. Look for future reports on this lineup.

Until next time, have a fun and safe time in the field pursuing your trophy.

She does have a RUBLINE jacket in Loden color, but she does have the “DRIZZLE” Top and Bottom in the “Naked North” pattern. Pictures of that to come. For now you have to settle for the Loden.

    Hey Rob!
Is Gamehide gonna make tall sizes? Looking at their size chart I couldn’t wear anything they make. Its making me sad….

The Typhoon stuff I think. What you guys were wearing on Mille Lacs this fall. I take a 36 inseam for bibs and I usually have to buy extra huge to even get close on the length. Thanks sir!

Rob, Didn’t Gamehide say people could custom order items if they didn’t have their size?

    Wade, I’m not sure I will have to ask Steve. <img src=”http://www.in-depthangling.com/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif&#8221; alt=”” />

DD, I will ask him. I think he told me in the past they wanted to get their Typhoon line, up and kicking and then they would address the Long or Short sizes. I will confirm this is still the case. Yes you are right, many of the IDA Staff were sporting Gamehides Typhoon Rain Gear this Fall on “The Pond”. <img src=”http://www.in-depthangling.com/forum/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif&#8221; alt=”” />

Thanks Rob! If they make the stuff in my size I’ll buy it! Are James and Dustin wearing them? They are just a little shorter than me so if they fit those guys they aren’t too far off from me.

I am aware that a lot of this hype sounds like a bunch of guys who are sponsored by them…But the truth is we didn’t have to go to Gamehide. The gear sold itself to us! When they took the time to show us how they made it, and the way the pockets fold, the arms are cut, and a ton of other things…it was a no-brainer! Go into any of the sponsors listed and try some on! You will see what we mean! Gamehide really is THAT good.

If you look at the pictures that Lip and tuck and other guys with sponsers post they are wearing the gear. And if you go out with the guides they are pitching BfishN jigs and plastics. I really do believe that the staff on this website don’t push products they don’t/won’t use.

    Right on DD!

I wear my Gamehide every chance I get. Believe me, if I find something better to wear in the stand, in the field or on the lake I would, but I haven’t. I love my Gamehide Gear and I can not afford to let the weather dictate my outdoor adventures. I Fish and Hunt in some of the nastiest stuff every year. The only way I’m able to do this if I stay warm and dry. That is what Gamhide gives me, the ability to stay warm, dry, and comfortable no matte rif it is in the boat, stand, or field. Yet most important, it gives me the ability to stay out there all day waiting for that big buck or that big fish. I don’t wear my Cabelas Guidewear anymore, but it is a nice back up set, incase I have more people in my boat without Gamehide or the proper gear. You would be very hard pressed to find me in a outdoor adventure with out my Gamehide Gear on.

Unless it was Sunny and 80.

When it is sunny and 80 I like the gear your “fishing partner” wears!
