Has anyone had any experience with the adjustable pro track system? Is it easy to use ? Is it strong enough for pole holders ? I want to make sure it functional,…not just another gadget. Thanks for your advice.

I have it on my 04 Explorer 1800. I have had everything on them including my homemade downrigger mounts, no problems. It is for real, great invention, thanks Lund.

I have read similar results to Joe. I looked at in the boats, but pretty tough to tell just looking. Sounds like the cats meow.

It is definitely strong enough for my scotty rod holders. U can also mount ur GPS antenna puck on it. But the placement of these sport trak becomes a little limited if you want to use the suntop cos they impede the travel of the suntop if you want to put up or down. So there is a zone of no-placement if you wanna have the suntop option. Also, there is a zone where u cannot mount the sporttrack because of the throttle controls. It is not perfect, but it is real useful.

I have them on my 1800 explorer and have had no problems with them at all. I have attwood rod holders mounted to them and they work great and hold up great. the only down fall on my part is my cover is to tight to leave them mounted in the groove even with out the rod holders in. Keep that in mind. other than that they have been great. one other thing to think about is when you buy rod holders if you dont have them make sure you get the right base for them, it has to be the flat mount but not the flat flush mount. im assuming you are looking at buying a boat? good luck with everything and let us know how it turns out.

Do you have the factory cover for the 1800 ? If you do, how are the Sport Trac mounts impeding the cover? My cover snaps to the outside, and the mounts are on the inside, with plenty of room under the canvas. I just can’t imagine any trouble with that. Maybe your cover is different. (TSCTSC) As far as not being able to mount them next to the controls, even with any type of mount, why would you want too?

Laziness, I guess. I want to mount a rod holder next to me when I am at the wheel but slightly in front of me so that I can put a rod there while trolling. I could not as the sport trak when mounted there with the rod holder base will block the throttle. I guess now I have to drill a rod holder base into the gunwale instead.

Thanks everyone,…its a go. Now I just have to sell my 02 1700 SS. The dealers are unrealisitc on trades in my opinion.

The only spot i have troubles with is in the back. the reason it doesnt fit is because of the rod holder bases stick up about 3 inches from the mounting base. the back of the cover is tight to the gunwale. And yes it is a factory cover.
