Any one know a carpet guy to do 2 risers of stairs. Finished the up stairs finally and landing and now decided I want a Grayish out door carpet on both up and down stairs flights. Not a big job so I don’t want to call a company, and I’m no carpet guy ( yet ). I like to run in with my boots on often so I’d like a carpet that will withstand that.
North branch area. I will pay cash money if some one wants a side gig.

Hard to find carpet guys. Once upon a time I wanted to contract out the soft stuff as well but every single sub worth talking too was plump full not looking for more work. Dying breed for sure. Hard to knock any of em for it, horrendous on the knees all that bangin on the kicker.

    Hope ya find one!

My dad used to lay carpet, he was a firefighter and that was his side hustle, said the job is hard on the knees.

Thanks ? Anything on your knees all day is tough. Especially pounding with your knee all day

Just curious BC why not do the stairs in the LVP your already using? That’s what we did at our place. We toss small stair rugs on it.

I thought about it. And then doing a runner down the steps, but if I am doing a runner to ease the case of slipping then I might as well just do a carpet. I don’t want and I don’t want small stair rugs that will move around. Lvp is to slick I don’t need anyone falling down the steps or my dogs falling down the steps. They are already doing power slides past the steps when I ask them if they want to go potty rotflol

I did Google a couple pictures and I do like the idea of carpet pads on the steps. I guess I’ll have to look in to it. I was just thinking carpet all the way will eliminate alot of lvp at 80 bucks a box and lots of nose pieces

It looks nice having it done with the Lvp, the only issue is with the small carpet runners sometimes they move around and you still have to pull them off and vacuum them depending on how picky you or the old lady are. The dogs seemed to be ok with the runners

How are they held down ?

The ones we run have a thin rubber type layer on the bottom and it stays in place ok. They sell stuff you can put down like double sided tape kinda that will help them stay.

Google non slip stair treads. Easier than me trying to add a link.

Well I found a guy on here that will do it and another guy I’m doing work for here offered to borrow me the tools. That’s why I keep coming back to this site. Thanks all.
