Bow sits high

First off I have a warrior 2090 tiller. I switched to lithium batteries in my boat and added a kicker and now my boat has a decent lean to my side and the bow sits higher. It is fine when I get on plane and straightens out. Any ideas for when I am just fishing? My only thought is putting sandbags in the front of my compartments to counterweigh the kicker and to add the weight I lost going to lithiums. Thanks!

Kinda defeats switching to Lithium to save weight. Cant move the kicker to the other side?

No sand bags. It’s the perfect excuse to buy more tackle and store more in the boat!
Jokes aside, I’d reorganize and shift other things around to try to balance things out before adding dead weight.

    ^This.

Take an hour in your garage and empty out everything you have stored in the boat and start over, keeping in-mind your intended goal. If you are like me, there’s quite a bit more stuff in your boat than you realize that can be shuffled around.

I didn’t switch for weight savings. I switched so I would never have to worry about running out of trolling motor battery in the wind while I’m guiding. I have plenty of tackle in the boat but its not 150+ pounds worth I lost from batteries.

Kicker can’t go to the other side because of the warrior steering pump is on that side.

Front livewell would be near 100lbs filled but maybe not on the right side to counteract lean.

Correct Reef. That is on my side of the boat as well.

If you do not have a Minn Kota quest series then you can change bow mount to this. These are heavy a$$ beasts. Yep, buy more tackle mainly jigs. My jig bag alone alters the weight dynamics in my boat. grin

Do you have trim tabs for running? Won’t help sitting stationery so weight distribution is your only option.

Yep I have trim tabs! This is solely for when I am off plane fishing. The ultrex quest is on the agenda peace

I also upgraded to lithium batteries in my 2090 this year. The 2090 likes a heavier nose for keeping the keel in the water. I am also planning on adding some dead weight (sand bags) in the front of the bow to replace the weight lost in lead. To keep from making a mess I am planning on wrapping the sand bags with poly and taping it up tight.

I’d skip the bags and get some lead. Smaller, more dense, easier to move, and won’t make a mess.

Do you have a gas kicker in the back? I was fishing out of my friends 2090 Saturday. He has not made the swith over to lithium batteries yet but is planning on switching. I helped him switch his Garmin Kraken over to a Quest Ulterra earlier this year and lifting them on and off the bow there seems like quite a weight difference between the 2. He does not have a gas kicker in the back.

    I’d second this.
A one gallon size container of solid lead (no voids) is about 94lbs. The same gallon size container of sand weighs 12 lbs.

That’s a great idea. Now to find the lead…

I would exhaust all means of shifting the existing weight around in the boat to see if it makes enough of a difference before I start adding weight…
