Wonder why they’re for sale? Retirement? Lot’s of fishing and hunting in that area, plus, outside of Fleet Farm, there’s really no Big Box competition within 30-40 miles?

I’m still searching and the job market is absolutely FROZEN, maybe I should take a leap of faith!

1 million – that’s a lot of minnows and jigs . Will be sad to see it go though.

Seems like smaller bait shops just cannot stay in business these days? Sucks because everybody everywhere who fishes wants them and almost needs them. You’d think with such high demand there would be more supply. I’ve heard it’s tough to do correctly and is mostly a labor of love, though.

What can be done to change that and promote small bait&tackle shops? Obviously patronizing the establishment helps, but what else?

Btw, the BP(used to be Clark) gas station on old Shakopee and old cedar in Bloomington has an assortment of minnows, leeches and worms. Not greatest quality or price anymore but it’s the closest thing I’ve got for miles and miles any direction. If you go there during the ice season, please save a scoop of fatheads for me… and a puck of spikes…

Runnings in red Wing has a big supply of tackle and minnows, the last 4 times I was at 4 seasons I was the only 1 in there! Plus was very disappointed when I bought and paid 4 fatheads and most of the minnows were crappie minnows. I guess just dump leftover minnows in your fathead tank to reduce inventory? Does Rodney Banks still own 4 seasons? I guess Chris Winchester is not looking for his old job back?

I imagine theft is even harder for a small mom & pop shop to absorb than it is for big chain stores. One small bait shop that I know of has great danes wandering around. The dogs seem to have a sixth about who’s up to no good and they have essentially no thefts.

Is Winchester the Everts guy now? Didn’t know he used to be involved with 4 Seasons too

Yes bucky he used to manage 4 seasons and what is really funny is, I do believe that awesome BK got him the managers position. Who would have ever believed that!!
