Maybe the worst game I’ve ever seen, much less actually been to! Thank goodness I didn’t pay for tickets what an ugly ugly mess.

I love watching Ant play, but he’s been anointed as a generational talent a bit too early. 1 point in 2.5 quarters of playoff basketball on your home court doesn’t happen to guys who are perennial all stars. His best years are still ahead of him, but for now he’s gotta be more consistent to be the face of a contending franchise

If it ain’t working, keep chucking up 3’s.

    Drive to the hoop!

Did anyone else see Kirill and Zuccy behind the wolves bench?

I just don’t know how you lay an egg this badly, in the playoffs, on home court. It’s mind boggling.

You may as well keep chucking? How else to get back 20 points in 10 minutes?

Not sure how it’s possible to shoot any worse. At some point you need to draw fouls and launch bombs

Didn’t know u could intentionally bounce it off a defender for an OOB call? Would think that should be like intentional grounding or some crap like in football? Guess not. That’s kinda lame.

    Still learning about basketball.

All 4 home teams lost their openers. Never happened before.

Hopefully this is an aberration for the Wolves. I’ll bet Ant comes back fired up.

Sounds like Curry will miss at least 3-4 games. Wolves have to capitalize on it.

I have to assume the poor shooting and scoring was more of an aberration than a trend. 88 points is almost unfathomable.

Guess I haven’t watched the NBA recently but seeing teams run down the court and immediately jack up 3’s and them clanking off the boards is not real enjoyable.

    It’s actually Unwatchable to me..

The wolves have been a pretty good shooting team and even from 3, but the last 2 games have been historically bad. Not a good trend at all.

Alot of people share this sentiment. At least the Wolves have guys that usually get to the rim or can drive and kick. Teams like the Celtics are impossible to watch. They jacked up 60 threes the other night.

Wolves are around 4th or 5th in the NBA regular season in 3-point scoring and 3-point shooting percentage. Anthony Edwards actually led the NBA regular season with 320 3-point plays. Edwards and the entire team could not have shot much worse in the last two games actually from any spot on the floor. Ant could not even score in the first half driving the lane right to the basket.

Warriors are another top tier 3-point shooting team. Wolves defense was let the Warriors take 3-point shots without being covered or were the wolves just too confused by the Warriors offensive strategy ?

I suppose you could do the Kerr-Curry comparison to Belichik-Brady championships, but Kerr can coach ! Kerr has 9 NBA championships … five as a player and 4 as a coach. Guy knows how to win.

If Wolves can’t beat Warriors without Curry then they deserve the rest of the summer off.

Not much to say about last night other than what has been said – plain ugly. What a brick fest. Divincenzo has just been atrocious lately. Conley and NAW didn’t score. Ant was mostly absent. Just a gross game.

Will be interesting how Rudy figures into this series. Odd matchup for him. Seems he sat most of the 2nd and 3rd quarters but they made a bit of a run with him in the 4th.

Buddy Hield could be a problem if he stays hot.

Since the Wolves don’t need to defend Steph the next few games I hope they would put the clamps down on Heild and Butler.

Feels like winning the next two will be critical…if Steph comes back late in the series that’s a bad sign for the Wolves.

Confirmed what Matt said. Curry out for the next week and getting re evaluated but will miss the next 3 games with his first ever strain. Unfortunately they still play 5 on 5 so Kerr could probably start the team bus driver and get productivity. doah

Next game they better start with getting some easy buckets before spraying the 3 ball. The whole team could gain some confidence just seeing the ball go through the net.

The Wolves need to win the next couple games convincingly with Curry out. The seas have parted and left the Wolves with arguably the easiest path imaginable to the Western Conference Finals.

If this roster cannot get by a team led by banged up 35 year old Jimmy Butler, bench scorer Buddy Hield, and trash talking Draymond…..it might be time to retool the entire roster for anyone not named Anthony Edwards.

I see Ant coming out absolutely on fire in game 2. I’d guess they play with the same intensity they did against the Lakers. I don’t see Ant having two lackluster games in a row. Even when he didn’t score against the Lakers he played D, distributed, and got others involved. I think we’ll see the best version of him.

I do agree Matt. But Ant has had two very poor shooting games in a row. Like, real bad. Hope he’s got a chip on his shoulder now.

For sure. But, at least when he struggled shooting in the last series he played well in other facets. He was well below his standards across the board yesterday. I can’t see that happening again.
