My property in McGregor butts up to some state land. This year we noticed some pink marking tape in an area behind our property. We are assuming that the state plans on logging this area to some extent as they did almost 25 years ago. Is there a way we can inquire with the state as to what their intentions are? Who would we call? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The local dnr office would know. Ask for the regional forester.

You can also try the county forester.

If they are clear cutting, look for the trees with blue paint, they mark the perimeter (save trees) and the reds in the ring all go. After marking, it can take 4 or 5 years before they get to them, then again, they could start tomorrow too.
