smokehouse – smoke

I’m looking for an attachment to use to put the smoke inside my smokehouse so I don’t need the fire inside my smokehouse. It’s on a trailer I can pull and is 4X6.

Smoker is vented well, and I can use dampers. Also have gas I use too regulate the heat. It is insulated and made of steel.

I would like to mount something small on the front of the trailer and keep it simple. Any ideas? Thanks.

Home made smokers rule! A picture would help. A small option may be a hot plate with a pie pan of wood chips – placed inside a mounted modified old tool box (or something similar). That is if you are OK with electric heat. I have used the hot plate idea (think Alton Brown) in many different ways with success.

bradly smokerBradly and masterbuilt have a version of a cold smoker add on. Bradly is $79 the masterbuilt I got was $60 on sale at Cabelas. The masterbuilt is a small box with a heating ellament with a chimney inside that you fill with chips that gravity feeds the chips onto the element. It attaches to the side of my 30 inch masterbuilt smoker works awsome for cold smoking doesnt really add much heat though. I get about 3 3 to 4 hours of smoke before refilling.
The bradly is a box connecting via duct work.

I will be using LP for the heat inside the smokehouse. I am looking for something small I can mount on the front of the trailer and pipe the smoke into the smokehouse? Thanks.

One these two cold smokers should work they are small.only draw back is you need a power source for the heating element.
    If your leary of links
the masterbuilt 9″x12″17″ tall with a cylinder protruding the side to fit into a hole on the side of a larger smoker.
The bradly little bigger at 11″x12″17″ with a flexible tubing coming out the top to connect to the larger smoker.

That’ll smoke a couple hot dogs at a time.

A friend cut down a pear tree earlier this fall and he gave me a section of the trunk, about 6′ X 6″-8″. I sawed it up into 4″ lengths then hand-split all of it into chunks for smoking. I’ll mix it with some apple when I do my lake trout in a couple weeks. Pear is a super good smoking wood.

OK. I think I sent the picture without a message? I am looking for a small wood stove similar to this. I don’t want a cabelea one at the high price. Looking for one that is well built but cheap? Any one have an idea? Doesn’t need to be just like this one.
