Mississippi River pools 9 and 10 walleye report

I hadn’t been out in quite some time and I really didn’t know what to expect but with the higher river levels I had some ideas on what to look for.So an evening of fishing pitching some BfishN Tackle Paddle Tails mixed up with some cranks too I had a pretty good afternoon/evening

I had been looking for current breaks on the shore line area and also the down stream side of islands also looking for some slack water where the baitfish would be hanging out.I mixed bag of white bass, smallies, largemouth and some toothy pike were the most to be caught, with a walleye or two in the mix. I stuck it out into the evening looking for some walleyes to move up onto the shelf and start feeding, right about 8:30 this girl picked on a #5 shad rap

Day two had me out with my wife Debbie.I had a couple of locations that I was sure would put some fish on the end of Debbies line. I pick up the rod and told her that this is right where I want you to cast and on the 3rd or 4th turn of the reel…well i handed the rod to her and this is what she caught on a jointed grappler shad

After a couple of hours on this spot and several more walleyes it was time to head home before the skeeters were to take our blood…

Have fun and be safe out there..untill next time

FISH ON !!

Nice looking eyes Dave! How is the water clarity by you?

The water clarity is really good even though the high water level..I have noticed that a lot of the bass I have caught have the pinchers of craw fish sticking out of their stomachs..so I have been throwing craw pattern cranks and plastics works for me

  4. Nice report Dave
But I’m jealous. Haven’t been able to connect with an eye yet in awhile. Guess I’ve lost my touch. Went Sat and tried all morning hoping to connect with one. All I got was a pain in the neck from it. Been on Advil since.

Leave Herb at home next time…

It’s nice to see so many reports with fish and spouses!
