Made the spring trip to Red Wing for a little vertical jigging. The weather was rainy with SSE winds at 15-20. The fish were still in a cooperative mood and we managed a nice limit of 17-19 inch eaters. The picture to the right is a nice 10 lber that Gary caught on Thursday.This was by far the fattest walleye I have ever seen. The picture does not do justice to this girl. She did go back in the water after a couple of snapshots.
Friday the weather was much the same. The fishing was pretty consistent for my boat as we had about 60 decent 17-20 inch fish for the day. Hair jigs in blue/white and chartruese/blue were the most successful.
Saturday of course was the tournament and the boats were out in force. Didn’t see too many keeper fish caught but we managed a number of nice ones. Here’s the newest addition to our group with a personal best 27", 8.5 lb piggie. Nice fish Chad!
