Well the sun hasnt shined for what seems like months instead of days here as of late, but with that comes fishing oppurtunities that can make a guy smile.Vertical, pitching, and dragging are all effective presentations right now if fished under the appropriate water conditions.Shown here a recent vertical catch by Ida Celebrity Alvinmac.
Jim B shown here with a nice eater that inhaled a BFT ringie and precision 1/8th oz jig dragging in approx 15 ft of water. This afternoon we had 3 doubles to the boat.
Jeff Harcy also connected on a nice fish on Stewart-Pro-Blue ringworm and BFT 1/8th head.Firecracker and oystershell ringies worked equally as well.Although these fish are not 10 pounders,I assure you these folks were anything but bored boating them.
Roy W shown here catching his first sauger ever pitching ringworms.Char-pepper and 3/16th plain lead precision head was a winning combination for him.We have good reports as of late on the vertical bite on chart-pepper and pink superdoos with bright colored orange and chartreuse heads in the 25 to 28 foot depths.Purple and chart pepper paddletails continue to put consistant catches in the boat as well. All for now,and good fishin to everyone!
Thanks for the update Dean. Some nice looking January eaters you’ve got pictured there. See you in the morning!
Is it just me or does Alvinmac’s Dad look like he’s infected with the highly contagious river bug?
Thanks for the report Dean
How are those Mukluks treating ya?
Thanks Dean.

Thanks for the update Bud, I think.
This warmer weather makes it so hard to decide to go ice fishing or open water fishing. Usually ice fishing wins as its too cold in Jan and Feb most of the time for the boat but this weather sure teases you. Nice pics. Nice fish. Nice weather.

Thanks, Bill
I was able to make it down there on Thurs 12/29 and Mon 1/2 and the colors Dean mentioned are what I used with success. On Tues Char-pepper super doo was the ticket, even a nice kitty decided to inhale one. Pictured is a good buddy of mine from Hastings, aka Putz with the BrianK prize of the day.
Jami
Thanks Dean,

Hope to get down Fri or SAt, or maybe BOTH days.
Jack..
I just have one question, was it my avatar or great looking hair that got me to “ida celebrity status”?
Thanks for the report Dean, Everts is truely a haven for those of us who refuse to give into the evil temptations of ice fishing!
Thanks for the “heads-up” Dean…They just keep going, don’t they? My wife wants me to bring her down to Pool 4…something must be going right for her to ask to go fishing in winter!!!
Jami, that was me and DrewsDad in the boat pictured behind you guys holding that cat…It was quite a fighter.
We will be down sometime this weekend.
Marty and I had ringside seats for that cat capture. That was a lot of fun waiting to see what was on the end of the line. Always neat to watch somebody battle a big fish!
