Who do you guys like on the west side of the cities for transmission service?

I have a 2016 Ram with an 8-speed. I am learning the the tranny pan has an integrated filter that is disposable and replaced with a new one when servicing in addition to a special fluid for refill.

So, I’m looking for recommendations on a shop that can help me.

I believe John is in Ham Lake area – kind of west side. He’s good sh*t and will take care of you. If he can’t do it, he will know someone that can.

    Thanks GG.

I see your in Champlin, I would recommend taking it to one of our stores we have two shops in the Maple Grove/Osseo area and also Brooklyn Park. If you would like me to I can speak with one of the managers there and make sure you get taken care of. I own and 2019 and it is quite expensive to service those if you commit to doing the full job with the filter/pan and chryslers special juice. You can either respond here or PM me and we can exchange numbers if thats easier

Looked it up about $300-$350 for a new pan and 6 qts of fluid. I did a drain and fill on my F-150 filter was $30 and 2 jugs of Motorcraft oil was $70.

Sure but you probably didn’t have to drop your exhaust to do it.

I recommend bringing it to to a dealership that doesn’t carry RAM products and go shopping.

Where do you have to disconnect the pipe from ? Dropping the exhaust is usually a pretty easy task for some one handy.

Not sure honestly we figured out a way to just do a drain and fill on mine. It sucks they put a drain plug in the bottom of the pan only to run the exhaust right under it. Its not a hard task to drop it, but I refuse to disturb a not leaking gasket if I can avoid it thats all.

RAM’s stopped selling long ago and not because of some precautionary inspections. The numbers don’t lie but keep telling yourself they are the best. If they were they wouldn’t have the pathetic sales numbers they do. It’s a well known fact that their transmissions are one of their weaker of the weak links. That’s about all I got to say about that.

Back to the topic, what’s the service interval on these things? I have no clue what it is on any vehicle but I’ve been told by many it’s either something to do and keep up on or don’t do at all.

Wow dude at this point I feel bad for the OP who came here to ask a question and this is what he gets. We get it Troll you hate Rams and I could care less not even my favorite brand by any means, but there transmissions are actually pretty solid after years of bad ones so yeah keep bashing everything on hear to stir the pot but you really don’t know what you’re talking about. They have a few other weaknesses but transmissions are not it. Why don’t you keep talking about their stickers Walleysforme!! moon
