Scouting a lake for ice fishing-any advice?

Thinking lakes have turned over-going to a dark water lake so fish should be basin fish anyone else do this? Tips? will bring my hand held GPS that I will use for ice time-will use sidescan.

Anyone still fishing? Friend just cancelled for this morning, for some reason he did’nt want to fish in 30-45mph winds with a morning temp at 33. Hmmm

I was out yesterday, going to get some chubs and going this afternoon,till after dark, ,
4 bass, 3 Pike ,1 walleye legal,3 short walleye, all on the 4.5 swim bait. I was getting short hits on the bait caster ,stripped a bunch of line off ,to slow the retrieve, turned the nippers into fish on the line . DK. Hard bottom with green weeds .
