For my sprinkler system I want to remove a line. Can I just put a sleeve over this or other suggestions?

Here’s a pic. This is the hole in the main line. I just removed the line thus ran to. It was basically a tee fitting

I’d cut it and put in a splice but I’m not a pro.

Best bet would be to go back to the nearest source (next sprinkler head, T or main source) and cap it there.

If you’re taking out that line entirely, eliminate/isolate any unused plumbing in the circuit. If you simply want to patch it, than cut an put in a coupler and some hose clamps, like blackbay said.

Just remove the power wire on the solenoid for that run. Then it will never open to let water to that pipe. Should be in the ground in a green top box.

Had to respond. My neighbor was having pressure issues and was trying to find the culprit. He finally realized the the whistling sound was coming from this, still buried underground. Tree root growing right around/through it.
    Thought it was kinda cool

That’s exactly what happens to sewer lines when they get wrecked by roots.

The first thing I thought about when I saw that is an enflamed prostate. rotflol

So that explains the whistling I’ve been hearing. I’ll have the Belle look into that.
