Anybody using these? What are your thoughts? Better than Fireline or spider wire?

I use 4 pound Nano for some of my pannie jigging and 6 and 8 pound for vertical jigging walleye/sauger. Love the stuff in these situations. I don’t fare well with Nano if I get to dragging jigs or if I am using it to pull spinner rigs. To drag or pull anything use a tougher line, one with a more scuff resistant surface.

Nanofil in my opinion would be great if it had a better knot strength. I think I may have finally found/created the right knot. And NO, that double polymer not is not the best.

The cast ability is unmatched by any other line. It casts farther than any other line and it isnt even close. It does seem to fray pretty quickly though.

I don’t think it can be fairly compared to a braid because it isn’t a braid.

I haven’t even tried Suffix yet.

No experience with the nano lines but I did a side-by-side comparison this weekend to suffix 832 and Fireline in the same weights and 832 was much more supple and moved a lot easier than the fireline.

But honestly there was no major performance difference between the 832 and Fireline… just seems to be personal preference.

I personally will buy the 832.

The suffix doesn’t seem to fray as much as the fireline I’ve used in previous years. Unless the fireline has been improved I would go suffix. I also use powerpro and find them very comparable.

When you guys mention Power Pro, which one specifically? I see they have regular and the slick 8. Big price difference with those as well.

I have used 10lb. nanofil high vis on two of my combos since last fall. I caught a ton of big fish on pool two fishing wingdams and rip rap and never had a single fish break me off. I also never had one knot slip tying a palomar knot. The line does fray up easier than a traditional weaved braid (power pro, suffix) but it never caused me a problem. One big difference is that the nanofil doesn’t freeze up bad like the suffix 832 does.

Thanks for the replys. I am thinking on using it to walleye fish pulling worm harnesses & spinner rigs in rocky Canadian water so abrasion resistance would be a big factor.
