Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any Wal-Mart stores here in the metro that sell firearms.

I tried their site but couldn’t find a specific search for firearms.

They had a Sig Sauer AR platform in their ad over the weekend and I was kind of interested in checking it out.
Not sure if I am serious about an AR at this point or not but it is always fun to go look!!

I would have posted in shooters test bench but way more traffic over here with the recent events in Little Falls.

Not Brooklyn Park, not Maple Grove, and not the new one where Brookdale mall used to be. All three have ammo but not actual fire arms, I believe.

Last year here in Rochester one of the stores had a couple of black powder sets….the rifle with loading components. I can’t say that I’ve even seen those now.

Like all the other chain and el-jappo-cheapo stores the liability in selling firearms is probably something they don’t want to deal with and who, in a Walmart, is going to hold the FF license?

There are some Wally Worlds that sell firearms. I just don’t happen to know which ones they may be.

They wouldn’t go through the trouble of printing an employees manual for selling firearms if someone wasn’t an FFL.

When i worked at the inver grove walmart about 10 years ago i sold firearms there all the time. We had to call (atf) i believe and get a background check. If that cleared then we would go ahead and sell the gun. Only a few rare times would we deny a sale. Not sure if the inver grove store sells guns anymore though.

Why would you buy a gun at Wal_MART when you can go to Mill’s Fleet Farm, a very good SPONSOR of this site to buy a Firearm?

Mills Fleet Farm supports this site so we can enjoy the advice and giving advice and making comments on others needs or situations FREE of Charge. Without the Site SPONSORS we would have this, Wal-MART does not support this site, Mills does.

Mills is a great business neighbor and employer in Minnesota & Wisconsin supporting many AMERICAN Manufacturers and Buy AMERICAN which helps all of us.

    Just my two-cents

The new Fleet Farm in Chaska has gotten my business several times(not on guns…yet) and it is a beautiful store so if anyone reading this is ever in the area stop in and check it out.

Unfortunately they only sell Huldra ARs, the Huldras look really nice but that is all the Chaska store carries for AR platform rifles.

Wal-Mart carries the Sig and as I said in my post I wasn’t going to buy…I was just going to check it out if I could find a store close that carries them. Just researching my options at this point.

Unless I am absolutely set on the Sig at WalMart I will most likely go to Cabelas or maybe Bill’s if I decide to buy something since they both carry all the popular brands(DPMS, Colt, Bushmaster etc). Cabelas also sells Windham Weaponry which pretty new on the scene but they are made in the old Bushmaster facility out in Maine. Bushmaster moved their production out of Windham for one reason or another so a bunch of the people that had been with Bushmaster for years were out of work so they started Windham Weaponry.

The other thing that I have noticed…..the gun counter guys I have talked to at the Chaska FF aren’t nearly as informed/educated as the guys I have talked to at Cabelas, Bill’s or Gander. I may have gotten a part timers or something but I’ve asked a couple different guys about Huldra and they just gave me a pamphlet and didn’t provide any additional insight or even suggest that I stop back when so and so was working to get the full scoop.

Here is a tip. If you want to talk to a knowledgeable person at a Fleet Farm, call the one in Blaine and ask for a guy by the name of Dan Simon in firearms.

His dad owned Simons gun shop in Mounds View, and Dan was the main gun smith for years. After the dad died Dan decided to try something else and ended up at Fleet Farm.

He is very straight forward and will give you his opinion on about anything you ask.

    JB,

Another call you might want to make is to 4 Seasons, Chris Winchester, before you make a purchase. I just got a 22-250 from him and the price was as good as any store I’ve looked at.

    Later.

It was a reference to most everything at Walmart being imported from China.

I have been buying all my guns from a guy in anoka. just has his ffl lic. and beleives everyone should have a gun. Usally $25 over his cost. The last 2 I bought were the smith and wesson bodyguard and the Kahr cm9 I paid $315 and $375 out the door. I have saved enough over the last 3 guns to buy one for free .
