Eskimo Propane HC 40 (oil line burst)

I was using my Eskimo propane 10 inch auger yesterday for about the fifth time since I had purchased it and while I was drilling a hole the oil line that runs right behind the carburetor bursted and oil came out all over the place. Has anyone else here ever experienced this. Should I just replace it with gas line rubber hose from auto parts store or should I get another one from Eskimo? Is this line supposed to have that much pressure in it I thought it was just for oil to go for the valves.

I would demand a complete new auger under warranty.
    If its still under warranty.

It is a refurbished unit I bought off eBay and I already had to send the first unit back. I don’t know what to do.

    That sucks.
Send it back again or dispute charge if credit card was used.
You shouldn’t have to deal with some auger blowing apart hoses.

Don’t use fuel line hose.I would check with eskimoe. The fuel line is not made for oil it will deteriorate.I would also ask about the pressure issue.I would check auto parts stores they make oil resistant hose.I know Napa has a high pressure oil resistant hose.

ALWAYS start by calling the manufacture….
You will be surprised how nice they are.
Keep in mind it is the busiest time of the year for them so be patient.

I was out popping holes all weekend with my Eskimo HC40 without a problem. This is the first time I have heard of any problems with this auger. X2 on communicating the manufacture.

Shouldn’t really be that much back pressure on that line. I would assume there may be another underlying issue with the powerhead. Definitely talk to Eskimo and see what they have to say.
