I have a Corsair CS400 I bought 5 years ago that has a faulty cast release mechanism. It has been used only a few times while off shosre deep sea fishing and have lost several yellowtails and other varities of tuna because of it. Several fishmen that are familiar with the reel told me that Shimano is aware of this problem and will replace it with a newer model. My question is there anybody out there with this problem and if Shimano is still honoring a replacement no questions asked. I Love the reel otherwise when it works right and I am tired of losing 35 & 40 lb fish. I understand Shimano will replace it with their upgraded 400A or 401. The Spring & Summer fishing season will be wide open off the San Diego Coranado Island/ Mexican coastal waters in a month or so and I want to be prepared for upcoming long range trips and want to use a 400 series by Shimano that’s in top shape. Would love to hear from experts or owners of CS400’s out there with similiar mechnical issue with the release on their Shimano CS400 and if its possible getting a replacement or upgrade.
