I tried out the new Frabill Panfish Popper Rods this year for in the ice house and man I really like these rods…The have a glass composite blank construction with a fast responsive tip perfect for finesse jigging with light lines, small ice jigs and finesse plastics

Another thing I really like is the sensitive micro spring bobber built right into the rod tip-top allowing immediate detection of even the lightest bites

I made a big mistake, after a day of fishing i packed up my gear and headded off the ice…when I got to my Jimmy i picked up my Otter Medium Cabin and pushed it up into the back(all the contents came sliding down to the bottom) Well the next day out I opened things up and found that i had left my Panfish Popper Rod in the bottom of the Otter and ended up breaking the tip off of it Dang it i said !!

So I talked to customer service at Frabill asking if i could purchase some of their Spring bobber rod tips . Well they didn’t sell just the tips …but….they would send me a new rod even though I broke the tip and it was my fault , they sent me a new rod in the mail at very little expense to me…If your looking for a rod to match up with your spinning reel give these rods a try…There are 4 different actions to fit most every need

    6600 Micro Light 20″ 1-4 lb. Micro-light jigging

    6601 Ultra Light 24″ 1-4 lb. Multi-purpose jigging

    6602 Light 26″ 1-4 lb. Multi-purpose jigging

6603 Dead Stick 30″ 1-4 lb. Dead Sticking Live Bait.

Thanks Frabill I will be a customer for life

Looks like a decent rod. Soft tips is the way to go for pan fish. Cant remember the last time I fished a bobber for pan fish. Watching those tips and a quick set is the only way to go.
What do those rods go for in price. Im down to my last pan fish rod with out a broken tip and might need to stock up again.

The rod is really nice and you can’t beat the spring tip. The problem is in the elements any ice on the line jams up in the spring. Also the spring on mine kept popping off. Overall I returned the rods and went to St. Croix and their new spring design. Nice rods in deep water but I only fish the deep water a couple times a year.

The other day when i was putting a spring like that on a ice rod i said to my old man “I’m surpised nobody makes a rod witht the spring built in” well guess I just never looked hard enough. I will have to get me one of these and see how i like them. Thanks for the heads up on them. Plus u cant beat customer service like that.

    Yep Yep !!

Great rods for either in the ice house or if your reeling in all the time it would be better if the temps outside were above freezing…I have never even tried running ice thru the spring bobbers…I don’t think they would last long doing that…
